We had reservations for 8pm. This was our last night on the cape with friends. The service was horrible. No one came to our table for 15 minutes and we had to go ask the hostess if someone could bring us water. Finally our server came and told us she was hot and sweaty and we ordered bar drinks. We asked about specific drinks but she said it was so dark in the restaurant that she couldn’t see the drink menu : / all of us have worked in the restaurant service industry at one point and we were properly trained on and tested on the menu before being allowed to take care of customers. Finally we were served drinks about 35min after being seated. The drinks were obviously left on the bar and watered down by the time we got them. Then we asked if we could order our meal and we asked for some meal suggestions and she replied “I don’t eat seafood so I don’t know : / “. We did not receive the bread that came with our meal so we asked about it and the waitress walked away and came back 5 min later with 4 pieces of bread. She pointed out that one of the 5 meals did not get bread. Anyhow, the salad was warm and when we asked why, the server responded “that’s the way the Caesar comes. Sorry- I don’t work in the kitchen.” Once our food finally arrived it had clearly been left in the window as the food was all overcooked. At this point we asked to speak to a manager. The manager (possible manager? She didn’t introduce herself and she was less than apologetic and rather condescending). She verified that our friend didn’t like their meal and then promptly asked if everyone else felt the same way? It was odd. Another friend had the sword fish and it was the absolute worst my friend ever had on the Cape. It was dry and flat and overcooked and had likely sat for a long time in the window. It wasn’t addressed until the end of the meal and when we told the manager she said we should’ve brought that up earlier, even though the plate was still full and uneaten. At this point we noticed Jasmine (our waitress) was in the back talking with other servers in the kitchen and they were all looking back at us. She comes back to the table and says “do you need anything else food wise because the kitchen is closing”. The manager came and adjusted the meal for the guest and did nothing else. Being the last ones in the restaurant we could clearly hear the management figure taking with other wait staff just feet away from our table. She said “I know but I’m just trying to do the right thing.” It honestly felt like the whole wait staff was against us at this point as they cleaned around us and gave us dirty looks. Worst service in...
Read moreThis place has a beautiful setting right on the water. We read other reviews that said great atmosphere, with just OK food. Three $$$ signs. We had a good time. Our waitress was lovely, we waited a little bit longer to sit right at the windows. My wife and I both ordered James Bond’s favorite drink... a Vesper. The drinks were EXCELLENT! Salad was unremarkable, although the lettuce was a day past due, but not real bad. My wife ordered the fried seafood plate and I ordered the broiled seafood. The scallops on my plate were excellent, but the shrimp were over done. Edible, but not right. My wife’s fried seafood was good. She shared her fried oysters with me and I thought they were delicious. The cost with tip was a reasonable $119.00. A fair price for such a beautiful location, excellent drinks, a wonderful waitress, and just average food. All things considered, we’d go back there. There was one thing I found really odd. You have a choice of sides with your meal. If you order the fruit, there is an additional charge of 25 cents!!! SERIOUSLY? You are going out to eat, spending anywhere from $100.00 to $250.00, depending on what you order, and they want another 25 cents if you order the fruit! Take that charge off the menu.... it’s...
Read moreWood Hole's Premiere Waterfront restaurant! This is THE place for the best waterfront dining in the area. We had dinner on one of their busiest summer nights during the film festival and the staff was on point!
We tried several times to park in the validated lot and it was full with an exasperated attendant. I called to cancel the reservation and Chloe at reception was our parking angel! She said to just pull right in front of the restaurant and give her the keys no problem!
Not too long of a wait and we were seated at the most romantic spot in the restaurant. Our server Dori was excellent, very friendly and super efficient. They even crafted a cocktail that I like that was not on the menu. Speaking of which the Portuguese break and butter is to die for! The salads were cold and crisp. My hubs Swordfish was delish and my Broiled Scallops with roasted tomatoes, feta cheese & black olives was yummy.
The place was packed and even as we were leaving our table, any server that passed by us wished us a good evening. You could tell that the management has taken the time to train their staff in a good way because even though it was a crazy busy night, they were all happy! Kudos...
