The service was good, the quality of the cooking is great. Menu changes seasonally, and we went during the tail end of fall. We started with the kimchi pancake and the pork belly confit. Kimchi pancake was pretty good, if not a little bit clumsy... Kimchi is usually characteristically overpowering (a good thing, difficult to work with), and the chef was clever in balancing out with raw beansprouts and a good char. In conventional Korean execution. It's brightened up with scallions and a sweeter dipping sauce (one we got here was leaning salty). Pork belly confit was good, the combination of the textures and flavours from the protein, mushrooms, squash and biscuit was excellent. For mains my partner had the shoyu ramen and I went with the duck confit. Portions for both were generous (I went home with 1 of 2 duck legs on my plate), so not quite sure what some of the other reviewers were talking about; perhaps the chef listened to feedback? My partner was not a fan of the broth, but I thought it's complexity was excellent; light but rich, if even possible. The home-made noodles were, for me, absolutely disappointing, as they had zero bite in them, to the point of being airy. Ramen noodles exist in numerous varieties, and like whisky, there's not so much a right or wrong as much as what you prefer, so YMMV. The protein in the ramen was perfect, I'm guessing the chicken breast was sous vide before being crisped. My duck confit was brilliant, from the potatoes to the meat, everything tasted immaculate. We also had brussel sprouts on the side, which was pretty good if not a little too acidic. We ended with home-made mint chip ice cream, and it was the perfect way to round out an evening of indulgence. You can taste the fresh mint leaves in the dessert, and the texture was great.

Dining at The Water Street Kitchen was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm, friendly service that made us feel right at home. The ambiance is cozy yet refined, perfect for a special night out. We started our meal with the tinned mussels appetizer, which was a delightful surprise. The mussels were perfectly seasoned and incredibly fresh, setting the tone for the rest of our meal. For the main course, we ordered the sea bass and the cioppino. Both dishes were absolutely delicious. The sea bass was cooked to perfection, flaky and moist, with a wonderful blend of flavors that truly showcased the chef’s talent. The cioppino was equally impressive, brimming with fresh seafood in a rich, flavorful broth that we couldn't get enough of. One of the standout aspects of our evening was the homemade cocktails. Each drink was expertly crafted with a perfect balance of flavors. The creativity and quality of the cocktails added a special touch to our dining experience. Overall, The Water Street Kitchen provided an unforgettable evening of exquisite food, exceptional service, and delightful cocktails. We can't wait to return and explore more of their menu. Highly recommended!

The best meal I have had on the Cape to date. There are a number of places on the Cape that make food that the Cape is famous for: fried seafood, lobster rolls - all of it delicious. This is a spot that takes pride in ingredient-driven, creative and sophisticated food. With zero pretention. The service was super attentive with no stuffiness. The ambiance was warm and cozy. And the food was spectacular. I chose the Bluefish Pâté which was unctuous and not "fishy" at all (given that Bluefish can be particularly oily and fishy) with garlic toast, homemade pickles and some really nice spicy whole grain mustard. Then a Haddock, white bean and oyster mushroom dish that ate like a warm and delicious stew. The Parmesan broth and house cured pancetta were a great balance and full of umami! The wines by the glass were interesting and the list carefully selected (choosing between a Sancerre and a Txakoli was tough as I love both! I went with the Philippe Girard Sancerre) Even though stuffed, I had to try the Spiced Pear Sorbet which was fantastic. This is food by people who obviously care about provenance, using locally sourced ingredients and you can taste it in every bite. I will definitely be back!

It pains me to write this because we have always been a HUGE fan of Water Street Kitchen (and the Fishmonger before that). First, the service was impeccable, sweet but professional attitude, informative, attentive, absolutely no complaints there. But the food was average at best. The baked oysters were just too oily - I understand duck fat and scallion oil is involved, but it was overdone. The bread ($10!!!!) was dry and flavorless, and the radish butter was hard and tasteless - the radish provided nothing but a color embellishment. The Atlantic Char was overcooked, and the accompanying beets were like something out of a can, but the Yukon potatoes were superb. The monkfish katsu was too soft and mushy - Monkfish should have a lobster fail feel to it. The cabbage and rice was okay, but expected more umami. The martini was excellent and the Aquatic Brewing double IPA was extraordinary - and we love the idea of supporting local craft brews. NOTE: We have had katsu before, but there should at least be a mention on the menu that katsu is fried for people who are unfamiliar with the cooking process and it could present some issues for some patrons.
