Before my review, just wanted to say I love family owned restaurants and I hope they flourish and succeed. We came on a Thursday night and there were 2 people ahead of us. You pay before you eat. The way the front entrance is designed, you're bumping into people and it's hard to access a menu. There were only 2 people. I don't like this set up as it creates a log jam. It's inefficient and not well thought through. We had the lentil soup and it was the best we've ever had. Just perfect and flavorful. For the main dish we had Naan and it was good. When we got our main dishes I was disappointed. The flavor I was hoping for from an authentic, family owned Indian restaurant was not there. We had lamb biryani and one other curry dish. They were just bland and not good. One other thing is that they put green peppers in the Biryani. It absolutely wrecks the flavor imo. I wish these guys the best as it's a treat to get these types of restaurants in this area but the first impression wasn't great. Read moreAmidst a long drive with kids who crave only Indian cuisine, stumbling upon Taj India Restaurant in the Fargo area felt like striking culinary gold. Opting for a pickup order, we were pleasantly surprised by the delectable flavors and impeccable hygiene standards evident in every dish.
As Punjabis, encountering a taste of home in a remote area resonated deeply. The restaurant owner’s kindness truly stood out; upon learning of our lengthy journey ahead, he meticulously packed our meal to prevent spills in the car. Moreover, he generously provided an array of disposable dishes for our convenience.
In a heartwarming gesture, he treated us to complimentary mango ice cream and kheer, adding an extra layer of sweetness to our experience. Grateful for his hospitality, we embarked on the remainder of our journey with full hearts and satisfied appetites.

Read moreI’ve been a regular at Taj India for a while now, and every visit reaffirms why it’s the best Indian restaurant in the Fargo Metro area. From the moment I step inside, the warm and welcoming atmosphere and the friendly staff make me feel right at home.
One of the reasons I keep coming back is the consistently delicious dishes. I’ve tried a variety of items on their menu, and each one stands out for its rich flavors and authentic Indian spices. On top of that, the portions are always generous, which means I often leave with leftovers to enjoy the next day—definitely a bonus!
A special highlight for me is their homemade ice cream, which comes in irresistible mango and pistachio flavors. The creaminess and authentic taste make it hard to resist ordering dessert every single time.
