Read moreI was sad when Famous Dave's left this building, but El Agave exceeded my expectations as it's replacement. The atmosphere was bright & casual. The service was excellent & friendly. Another soft drink on the table before I was finished with the first! I put a lot of weight into a great Mexican food restaurant on its free hot sauce & rice, oddly enough. Both were awesome!
Now the food. My wife had the Chori Pollo, I had the Steak Agave Burrito, & my 9 yr old the kids soft shell tacos. The tortillas according to my wife, were the "best she ever had". The food was also amazing. My burrito was the best steak burrito I have ever had. I've had a lot of them. It came with some type of sauce that really put it over the edge of others.
My only small complaint would be on my kid's 2 tacos. They were stuffed full of meat & very good he said, but the one side of the tortilla facing down on the plate, were both wet. Guessing juices from the meat? Kids are picky & finding a way to remedy that would be a good idea. Otherwise, top 2 Mexican restaurant I've ever been to. Excited to try...
Read moreNew Mexican restaurant in town will definitely give the others a run for their money. When you walk in you really wouldn't know you were in a Mexican restaurant. They lack the traditional themed furniture and art HOWEVER they shine everywhere else! We were greeted right away by very friendly staff and asked what we would like to drink when seated. Chips and salsa came right away and they have a guy coming around offering fresh guacamole which he will make with fresh ingredients right at your table right in front of you. He has a tip jar but the guacamole is not free. He used 2 fresh avocados and had a nice offering of other ingredients. You'll find a charge of $10 on your final bill for this service but it is a reasonable price for the portion especially if you take into consideration the chips and salsa are free. The guacamole was delicious and chips were nice and warm. A tall draft was $7 and fajitas were $19. Definitely a very nice meal with very good service and food. Our waitress was Paty J and she was great. I will definitely...
