We arrived late after encountering some winter driving conditions but we had let the hotel know well in advance what time we would be arriving. And, we arrived within 5 minutes of our stated arrival time. There was a sign on the counter indicating that the front desk staff would be back shortly. After about 10 minutes...and a call to an off-site number ... an employee walked in with a pizza in hand and offered no apology or explanation.
The check-in process was quick and efficient. The room was well appointed and comfortable but lacked adequate towels - two bath towels for a room that had a king sized bed plus pull-out.
We checked-out the following day late morning. A few days later, I checked my credit card statement...to find a pending charge double what I had been quoted upon booking. A few days later the charge was confirmed on my card. I contacted the hotel directly who informed me of the issue (their computer had a glitch and it charged everyone for an extra night - some April Fool's joke) and indicated that the manager would get back to me. I left my contact information.
A few days later, I received an email notice indicating that there had been a refund applied to my credit card. As this did not immediately show up on my credit card statement, I waited four more days before contacting the hotel again.
At the request of the hotel, I again left my contact information. They indicated that no manager was on-site but someone would get back to me. Five days later...the refund finally showed up on my credit card statement.
A call from the manager with an apology would have gone a long way...and I waited to write this review hoping that someone would reach out.
I'm a frequent traveler for business and personal reasons and seek out SPG affiliated hotels where possible. But I would definitely not recommend this hotel in Fargo. There are ample...

However I immediately left the hotel to go back to work.
Upon returning to the room At 5:30 pm and going into the room for the first time. Was greeted by a candy wrapper in the window sill, I said well that's not a good sign. I then went to shower and as I was finishing getting ready I looked over towards the opposite bed and noticed blood stains on the bedding. That's when I said disgusting and went to the front desk. Some where around 630 or 7pm the lady at the desk apologized for the room and said I could speak with the manager in the morning. I thought it unsettling there was no offer to change rooms. My brother and I then left for dinner. At that time I asked him if I could stay at his place. Came back that morning and showered again and went down to speak with the manager. I was not expecting the encounter to be Hostel however Tanya R. Decide before she came out of her office that I was fishing for something. And even asked what I was expecting and asked me of all people why her staff didn't ask to move rooms and that she was there until after 6pm. I politely asked why she was being so defensive. And explained for the third time my experience. I told her as a previous hotel employee that she would not be able to fix a problem that she did not know about, she refused to check the room out having the gentleman working the desk to come up and see, he said that the room was definitely dirty and that she was back in her office and that he would not check me out until he spoke with her. He was then going to email the folio with her response. I get the email with no response and full price plus 30 dollars taken. And as of the 10th still no response. I will wait until the 11th to post my review with pictures and audio of the manager's customer service and room readiness or lack thereof on...
Read moreBeautiful entrance and main level. It was very spacious and open with several potential chatting areas or business spots. It would be a great place to meet a potential business partner, etc for a drink and discussion.
However, when we got there there was no one at the front desk until I located them down the hall. The attendant was very courteous and super helpful and quickly remedied the situation.
As we went to the room I noticed (4th floor) some things that a brand new hotel shouldn't have. The carpet squares in the hallway didn't meet up. In the shower was glue residue mid panel that wasn't removed before final inspection of said new hotel. In the pool there was some garbage behind the hot tub area and the craftsmanship of the tile in the pool itself was messy and not complete. The bathroom in the pool area didn't have soap, it was freezing in there and there was a hole in the ceiling for maybe a heat lamp or something? It just surprised is for a hotel at this level would overlook such poor craftsmanship on a brand new facility.
However, the pool was amazing! Very comfortable atmosphere and adequate chairs and tables. The chlorine wasn't overboard and the temps were great in the polls and hotub.
The room itself was an extended queen and ample room for a family of 5. The bathroom was large and we didn't feel we were in one another's way at all. The beds were comfy.
We went down for a drink that evening and we don't often have anything. I gave the bartender 1 choice of alcohol and asked him to make something. He knew exactly what to do with the first one. The 2nd one was more challenging so he hopped on Google and found something fabulous that I loved!!!
Little thing like the bartender and front desk staff going the extra mile made for an enjoyable experience overall. I would suggest this...
