We had a party of ten and wanted to have a variety of options as many in the party are vegetarians, so we decided on Indian food. This location had the most interesting looking website amongst the six or seven that are all nearby (within half a mile of each other!). Plus, they actually answered the phone when I called!!! So, I made the reservation and we stopped in. The initial look is not particularly promising as it is in back of another establishment and cannot be seen from Orchard Lake rd. Not only that, but there are signs all over the facade advertising a breakfast place, so I was getting a bit nervous. That is, until I walked in! First impression was the beautiful decor. There is a large glass wall separating one dining area from the other. It has water in it with a bubble machine and inserts so that the bubbles form geometric design. Lighted from below change colors to add to the look (see photo). Next good sign was that they were ready for us and immediately took us to our table. Final good first sign was that we were the ONLY Caucasian group in the place!!! :-) It took a bit to get our orders together as it turned out that most of the people in our party actually had never done much with Indian cuisine, but the waiters were patient and we eventually got there. I was happy to see the wide variety of dishes so that both my vegetarian and non-vegetarian folks could get what they wanted. When the food arrived ... wow!!! All the right flavors, amped up. There were all the spices you expect to come together in Indian dishes and then some. I was very impressed and enjoyed things immensely. My heat tolerance level is pretty high but many in the group are not fans of spicy food. We ordered everything at the medium level, and when it came, it was too much for some of the people. The excellent Mango and especially the Sweet Lassi saved the day. As we ate, I was monitoring who came in, and by the time we were done, the place was almost completely full. Aside for us, there were probably two dozen parties in this large place. Only us, and two other parties were not of Indian origin. This - to me - is an excellent indicator of the quality of the food - in addition to my own experiences. Overall, this was a very highly enjoyable dinner and I would really like to come back to enjoy more of their offerings.

I and group of friends ( group of 5 people) reached the restaurant around 9pm. It wasn’t our first time here either. To our surprise all the tables were dirty and not cleaned. We requested the staff to clean a table and they did after like 5mins of waiting. So we were ready to place our order by 9:10pm. The server( his name is kishan if I’m not wrong) you see in the video was ready to take our order. As we were giving our order to him we requested for extra chilies to make it extra spicy as we are Indian, he immediately says that it’s closing time and if he puts in a special request the chef’s gonna get angry and throw utensils at him. We were like ok and gave the rest of the order, as we’re done placing the order he says that we ordered only two main course items and he can’t take any order after this ( the time is still 9:15pm and we know that their kitchen closes at 9:45pm) so I requested him to call his manager so that I can have a word, he says that manager isn’t available. Then I requested him to hand our table over to another staff member as this guy didn’t want to work for the customers nor was he speaking politely. He denied my request and asked me why I gave him the same reason and he didn’t have an answer for me and started arguing with me. I asked my group to get up and walk out. Since there was no manger I walked to the bartender who was an elderly guy who told me that he’s been facing the same type of behavior from this guy for a long time. By now the chef walks out hears to my side of the argument and tells me that I would be happy to make the food however we wanted and he preferred our taste too. But since we were ready to leave I apologize to the chef and was walking out when he was the entrance mumbling bad words in Telugu to himself. When I heard this I reciprocated with one single word in telugu and he walks out behind me saying pallu ralthayi ra ( which translates to him wanting to knock me out. When I started recording the video and he saw me he stopped talking and I put my phone inside and left the place. So, if you can’t employee a person to serve your customers with respect you should not be running the restaurant ( to the owners of the restaurant). PLEASE DONT GO HERE PEOPLE.

The good- you better fasten your seat belts and strap in this could take a while. +++ Let me start with the decor. Beautiful set up with the bubbling wall creating a white noise that's relaxing. The colors are bright and vibrant. The tables with the restaurant logo in it have scan codes to tell you more about the restaurant and the ability to connect to their wifi. +++ Next the service was excellent my plate was swept away as soon as I finished with it. My water was always full they were friendly but not overly fake friendly. +++ Finally the food was amazing so many choices that I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to stop eating everything was great when the dishes I didn't find were my taste were good just not my flavor. I could go on about the good but i'll stop there. The bad- the worst thing was the buffet was not fully set up when i came in at exactly 11am. I won't complain about that because I'd rather wait 5 minutes for fresh hot food than come in to a buffet set up with cold stale food. The ugly- I think i gained 20 lbs because i couldn't stop eating this delicious food. Over all- 5 stars from me and I would give more if there was such a thing. The place is a delight to all my senses and my wallet at just over 10 dollars for the weekday buffet they are cheaper than many indian buffets half their size. I highly recommend india flavors and I will return often.

Surprisingly good buffet Indian food. However the service is just completely lacking. People are completely ignored upon entering until there is a seat available then they are gruffly shouted at and pointed where to go. The lunch opens at 12 but the buffet line wasn't ready so everyone sat around for a 20 minutes as they finished getting it set up. The single aisle to the buffet is just plain stupid as the line doubles back on itself and servers are constantly elbowing their way down the center to service the line. Meanwhile the buffet itself moves at a glacial pace as any single slow person stops the entire line. For some odd reason the dessert and drink are near the front of the buffet line and the drink cups are tiny little paper cups (I went and got a large glass but clearly was not supposed to). All the sauces are at the front of the line which again makes no sense as you don't have any food yet. The line took so long I piled as much as I could the first time through. I did try for a small second round at which time all the bowls were gone and there were like 4 plates left! Finally, upon paying and leaving a tip, was not thanked or acknowledged in any way. OTOH, the food was actually pretty good! Enough to mostly offset the really horrible service. Just know before you go!

A group of 9 of us went for dinner at India Flavors, and it was a memorable experience. We're devoted fans of Indian food, and I'd have to say that this dinner ranks in the top echelon of them. We were seated in a separate room from the main dining room, which we liked due to the privacy and coziness factor. We had 3 vegetarians and one gluten-freedom fighter in our group, and they did not have any trouble finding satisfactory options. I had the paneer tikka kabobs from their grill menu, which I have never seen on an Indian restaurant menu. The flavors were authentic tikka, spicy and wonderful! My wife had the paneer tikka masala, which was spicy and flavorful. All the traditional Indian dishes are available, as well, and all well made. We ordered a bread basket for the table, which included 16 servings, including butter and garlic naans and an onion kulcha. We also ordered a vegetarian biryani rice dish to share, although, unbeknownst to us, the entrees all came with white rice. Multiple flavors of lassi were popular at our table. Beer and wine are also served. I highly recommend you visit India Flavors wish you're in the mood for Indian.
