Vindu was the caterer for our Indian-American Fusion wedding weekend with 300+ guests. They provided catering for 4 events, and they were able to design and execute on a unique menu for each event. They were also able to cater to the dietary preferences and restrictions for all wedding guests, including vegetarian and vegan, non-veg, spicy, and non-spicy options for those guests that have never had Indian food before. The food was a HUGE hit at our wedding, and we definitely recommend working with Vindu catering.

The only constructive feedback we have is that they ran out of sambar during our at-home Haldi event early on and ran out of naan (and the naan was mediocre) at our reception. However, there were so many varieties of food at each event so there was plenty of food for all guests. They could be better about refilling food stations as well.

We wanted to share some highlights from our experience working with Vindu and the biggest reasons why we chose to go with them as our Wedding caterer:

Amazing Customer Service: It was an absolute pleasure working with Venkat. My now wife and I were traveling from California to Michigan specially for tasting, and Venkat made sure to make all the arrangements needed for us to have a wonderful and productive tasting experience. He even sat down with us to capture our notes and feedback on the food items (to be honest, we didn’t have many changes because the food was amazing!). Since my family never had Indian food before and cannot handle much spice, Venkat suggested several non-spicy menu options and even worked with us to develop more “American-style” menu options such as pasta and pesto chicken.

Best Tasting Indian Food: This is now my favorite Indian restaurant. The food is so rich and flavorful. For our Haldi event, they had a live Dosa station, which was a big hit! During our Sangeet, they included a mix of Indian and non-Indian options – chaat station, Chiku shake, lychee mocktail, momos, etc. were some of the favorites. They even delivered chai and coffee very early in the morning for the Hindu Ceremony. Lunch after the Hindu Ceremony was a wonderful vegetarian meal with dhal, okra, etc. and delicious ladoos. Lastly, cocktail hour and reception food included a mix of American-style and Indian-style food for everyone to enjoy. Each event had a different menu, and we had over 60 unique items across all events.

Ownership and Coordination: Venkat was responsive in our group chat, took care of all planning and communications with our wedding planner and venue, and he took ownership in catering all events. He and his team arrived on time for all events and took care of all the set-up, labels and description, and refilling of food stations.
