Silver Dairy — Restaurant in Farmington

My friend had a taste for ice cream. I suggested we go to Silver Dairy as it has been my go-to spot for over 20 years. My friend ordered a cup of butter pecan, which is her absolute favorite. She tasted it and said it had a strange taste and felt it may be spoiled. She asked is she could get a different flavor and was told she would have to pay for another cone. She barely took a bite out the ice cream she had ordered. The young lady offered to throw the full cup of ice cream away but told my friend she would have to pay for another ice cream. My friend was not given a refund. She paid $3.75 for nothing.

Now I read a review from 3 weeks ago where someone dropped their ice cream and water and was immediately given a replacement by the friendly staff.

I am upset because I recommended Silver Dairy out my past positive experiences and my friend ended up with the complete opposite experience.

I will not be returning to Silver Dairy because of the way my friend was treated. I won’t be returning since it appears replacement ice cream is given away if you are clumsy and drop your ice cream; however, if the ice cream is spoiled, you have to buy...

I’ve come here countless times because I used to trust the quality and service. But after today, I won’t be returning. The staff (a group of young girls) were completely unprofessional. One of their friends pulled up to the drive-thru and they spent at least 20 minutes laughing, chatting, and acting like it was a social hour. When the car finally drove off, I was told the machine was “broken.”

This is absurd. If your employees are more interested in goofing off and gossiping than doing their jobs, you’re running a daycare, not a business. People’s time isn’t a joke. If they want to hang out with their friends, they should clock out and go to a park. Hire serious, mature workers or expect to keep losing...

Excellent and efficient service! They have a drive through and two walk up windows. The drive through was busy, cars were queued onto Grand River, but the customers weren't there for too long because the crew was working as a team to fill the orders.

We parked off site and went to one of the walk up windows. They took it order and had It ready for us within 90 seconds.

They have several round picnick tables for customers to enjoy their purchases. The tables and grounds were all clean with families and young children enjoying their delicious treats!

Heath flurries are my favorite, and I swear they there were several bars...
