We tried brunch today and had a great experience! The staff were really friendly, and the food was very tasty. We also really appreciated the decor and that the seats and tables were comfortable, something that's an afterthought at some restaurants. Right now a brunch menu isn't visible on their website, but we decided to take a chance since the dinner menu looked so good. We weren't disappointed. Mimosas and cocktails are available as well as coffee, though right now as they are getting ramped up for full service, they just have espresso and drip coffee, no lattes and such. The food choices ranged from stuffed French toast to classic omelets to steak and eggs to shrimp and grits. The prices seemed reasonable for a quality brunch. You aren't going to pay diner prices; neither are you going to pay the outrageous prices that some trendy places charge. I ordered the omelette, which comes with ham, gruyere, and green onions with a large serving of diced skillet potatoes. I also ordered a side of their cheddar grits, which were creamy and clearly not instant. It was all terrific; my only suggestion is that the omelette and potatoes needed a little more seasoning. My husband ordered the steak and eggs, which came with potatoes and toast with housemade blueberry jam. (If we could have ordered a jar of the blueberry jam to take home with us, we would have. It was outstanding -- not too sweet with just the right amount of acidity.) My husband thought his steak was perfectly seasoned and cooked. He also enjoyed the over easy eggs and the skillet potatoes very much. We had a nice chat with one of the partners who own the restaurant, and our server Christy was very friendly as well. We will definitely be back for dinner and to have...
Read moreThis was our third time at Spruce + Ash and it did not disappoint! It’s hard to find a place that is consistently exceeding your expectations, so we are thankful to have found that at Spruce + Ash.
This time we ordered the cornbread waffle, deconstructed potato skins, steakhouse burger, and the Nashville hot chicken sandwich.
The cornbread waffle was warm, buttery, and the right amount of sweetness to start off your meal. We followed it with the deconstructed potato skins to balance it out and appreciated being able to share this without the mess of traditional potato skins. The purple potatoes mixed in were a nice touch!
My favorite item was the Nashville hot chicken sandwich - it was the PERFECT amount of crispiness and crunch, then the dill ranch and pickles gave it the perfect flavor to cool the slight spice of the chicken.
My husband ordered the steakhouse burger for the third time and keeps going back for it. I tried a bite tonight and agree that it’s worth it.
We appreciated the attention to detail and service from our sweet waitress, but also from all the staff members who checked in on us to always make sure we had whatever we needed. We will definitely...
Read moreCame for brunch. There were only two other tables being served at the time we were sat. Place was nearly empty. My cousin ordered a lemoncello. Time went by, no drink. A couple sat down behind us 10-ish minutes after we did, and we noticed they got their bloody Mary’s right away. Hmm.. odd. Still, no drink on our end. Finally, our food comes out. At that point, I politely requested that the drink be taken off our bill since our food is here. Our server immediately copped an attitude and said “well it’s ready at the bar.” If that were the case, then why didn’t she bring it first? I said our food is already here, so we no longer want the drink. She starts arguing and says “your drink is meant to be paired with your food”. It’s almost like she unintentionally proved my point, haha. We could NOT believe how rude she was being. I don’t think my request was unreasonable. To top it off, this was my first time eating breakfast somewhere that doesn’t butter their toast. It was rock hard. At that point my cousin and I were laughing. Tried to call and speak to the manager, went to voicemail. Take your business to Blueberry Brunch...
