To be completely honest if I could give negative Stars I promise you I would the service here was subpar and the atmosphere is lackluster and your wait staff needs better training I've been in the restaurant industry for 14 years both B.O.H & F.O.H there was actively one waitress and one bartender on duty there was another female employee that was on the side rolling silverware then retired to the back of the establishment. Our server had an almost 5 minute conversation before she even acknowledged us at the door. Before we were seated she stated that we could split our bill two maybe three ways she did also state that gratuity would be automatically added but never stated with the percent was which wasn't even the problem. The entire night your waitress was too busy having conversations with other customers at the bar to even acknowledge any of the problems that we might have had during our visit that night. It took her almost 15 minutes to even bring us menus of which we were trying to get her attention because we were trying to get our food orders in before the kitchen closed. When our food came out some of our orders were wrong amongst other things so the bill needed to be adjusted. She gave my friend flak when she requested the adjusted bill because she had been given the wrong one. The waitress was very snarky, rolled her eyes, waved her hand and ignored us numerous times which was very unnecessary and unprofessional. At the end of the day I was the one who made the comment " there is no way that I would have somebody working in my establishment nonetheless closing that couldn't void a ticket that makes absolutely no sense". I made that comment because I was told that we had to pay with only one card because she had already processed the $30 cash payment of which was in her hand. I asked her how it had been processed if I was looking at it in her hand there's no way it wouldn't be in the register if it was in the system. As I stated before I have worked on wait staff at multiple establishments so I know that the statement that she made was not true. She gave us a long drawn-out explanation about how she had to pay the bar amongst other things that made absolutely no sense and this is where the problem escalated. The bartenders attitude was out of this world horrendous. We made eye contact multiple times because she was watching our table like a hawk and had a look of disdain on her face the entire time for whatever reason and proceeded to tell us to have the day that we deserve on our way out as if that was even necessary. You should teach your wait staff better because in a different situation with a different group of people it could have ended up a whole lot worse. The world is crazy and so are people and treating anybody in this way regardless of how you feel about them and you chose customer service as your occupation is insane. Nobody is forcing them to do that job so I feel like it should always be done cheerfully. Some of the things that were said by the bartender combined with her attitude could land her in a really bad situation for her and that's just real. You're talking about dealing with patrons that could potentially be highly intoxicated and it's late night that's not a good combination therefore you should teach them better and you should do better as well as the owner. And if you are really concerned about your 19-year-old waitress you would most definitely teach her a more efficient way to deal with situations like this so that she's proficient in her occupation.
Not to mention I don't know whether you own other locations or not but I highly doubt you do nonetheless the one in Birmingham because they have way better service, the food is stellar and they have a better menu with more options and variety they are completely blowing your loathsome location out of the water
And we fired you get it right I swear your responses are laughable and you're a poor excuse and example of a business owner especially because you don't even try to rectify the problem tbh you're lucky I don't...

While the food and service are both fairly exceptional, the overall morale of this place is terrible. The owner, Scot, will do just about anything to ensure customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for how he treats his employees. A number of the employees are underappreciated and yet still go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction - while there are others [Scot's favorites] who will do whatever they want [be disrespectful to customers as well as other employees] and still work there. I know this because I am a former employee of Sidecar Slider Bar.
Less than an hour ago, I was fired - on my day off might I add. I covered a shift for another employee and within the first hour, I was informed that paychecks were already handed out and that it was a fairly slow day. When another employee came in to pick up their check, I asked Scot if I could have mine too. He told me to hang on a moment and so I did. Afterwards, he requested for me to help with another employee's work. I did. I even ran food and drinks to another server's table since I had no tables of my own. A while later after I noticed that the employee who had come to pick up their check had left, I asked Scot again if I could be paid for last week. He told me he didn't have time. I then stated the obvious which is that, I made time to come in to cover a shift on my off day and yet instead of paying me for the work I completed last week [or even bothering to say hello] I was ordered to help out with someone else's workload when it wasn't even busy. He made his point that he was not just the manager but the owner and if he asked me to help out then that is what he expected me to do. I replied to him that I had done what he had asked and would appreciate it if I could at least have my check being that the others had received theirs. He told me to "lose the attitude or go home" and I told him that I would gladly go home once I was paid for last week. He then told me not to come back.
Despite the fact that I was just fired on my day off, during my shift last week I had informed him about dead arugula that was being served to patrons that weekend and I was ignored. Attached is a photo of the arugula that I sent to him [which received no response and was still served to patrons throughout my shift].
Bottom line, if you are looking for a great work environment. This is not the place to go searching. You will be greatly...
Read moreThis week my husband and one of his best friends went to Sidecar Slider Bar for dinner. Our server was very good on checking in with us for more drinks, appetizers, and dinner. The sliders were fairly good. I find their burger patties a bit dry but over all not too bad. The real issue came when we went to pay the bill. The server brought me the bill and I gave her my card. She left the table and came back five minutes later and informed me that the card reader was down. She put the bill back on the table with my card and said she was going to leave it their until the internet came back up. After 15 minutes I asked her to try again. At this point I can see a few tables of people waiting to pay their bill. After another 10 minutes she came back and apologized for the delay and then asked if I had cash. The bill was about 100 dollars. I normally do not carry that much cash on me but luckily that day I did have 105 dollars on me. I told the server that I could pay cash but I barely have enough for the bill and I wouldn't be able to tip and I would prefer not to do that. At this point the manager came out and said " sorry but the card reader is down and we would prefer you to pay in cash." I said that's fine, how much will the bill be? He said, " let me go get it" I responded that I had the bill, but I wanted to know what he was going to charge me for the inconvenience. He looked me in the eye and said the full price and gave me a rude look. I was shocked that after waiting a half hour to pay my bill and not speaking to the manager util the last two minutes I was there that nothing was done to compensate for the issue. I fine and left the cash. In sort the manager was rude and completely non supportive to his staff. I would love to know what he did for all of the other patrons that had cards only and no cash.... completely...
