Took my mom to eat today after Dr. Appt. I asked to sit by an outlet to plug in her oxygen machine since it was almost dead. Waitress looked said no seats were avail near an outlet. I noticed an empty family booth that had an outlet, so I asked waitress she looked displease and reluctantly said it's reserved for a party of 6, but she'd ask. Yes she tells me. So we go to the booth and the outlet looked plugged and didn't work, so I asked again. She told me that when a gentleman left his seat we could sit there. I figured different section different waitress. Sure enough a different waitress brought our food. I got green chili instead of red, I tried to let waitress know, but they kept walking by us and ignored us. Finally after sometime another waitress noticed I needed more tea so she brought me some... Other than that not one waitress checked on us or got us refills or anything. The nice waitress that got me tea said she was the assistant manager. I had told her the problem, she spoke with management and we got an $8 discount. Which I was thankful for, but I'm not sure I'm satisfied with that, I just think it was very unacceptable. I believe her name was Denise, made me feel so much better just for the fact that she got me tea without me asking, listen to my complaint, and did something about it. So to her I'm thankful and great full. Food was great like always, I don't know if waitress get reprimanded or not but these ones...
Read moreWe made the wonderful discovery of this restaurant today. Excellent food with huge servings you are pretty much guaranteed to take some home as we couldn't even come close to finishing our plates. Over half of the menu is breakfast with the rest of the menu lunch and they are not open for dinner. I absolutely loved the two car pile-up which is two biscuits covered with gravy hash browns bacon sausage three eggs on top of that and then green chili and cheese, see the photo I have included. The one car pile-up would have certainly been more than I could eat but the waitress, an extremely friendly young Navajo lady was nice enough to point out that we could get double the size of the meal for only a dollar more so the two car pile-up is what I ordered. That huge pile of food almost overflowing the plate was a mere $10 which is the best breakfast deal I think I've ever seen.
Reading the very interesting information on the wall I discovered that this restaurant was started by a World War 2 veteran who survived the Death March of Bataan and three years of torture in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp and was highly decorated and has since passed on but the restaurant is still being run by his children. You just can't beat a family-run American Business and this restaurant is one of the best examples...
Read moreFood was excellent as well as the service. Quick and very attentive. I ordered a coffee and a cinnamon roll (YUM!) I told my waitress I would be ordering more food once my work on my computer was completed. I was asked (nicely) to leave or move to the bar area as I exceeded my ‘time limit’ at my booth (two hours) and because it was Friday and they are usually busy. I decided to check out and as I was walking out I noticed a plethora of open tables. 🤔🤔I understand if that’s the rule, then that’s the rule. Proactively, I believe the server could have informed me of the house rule at the start of my stay as I did have my computer out, or once I surpassed an hour. This approach could have saved the awkward conversation and possibly the ill feelings. But, if I’m not keeping customers from tables and I am ordering food, I don’t understand why I had to move?..thus the three Stars. Maybe a bit distasteful, but...
