Bad service, but the manager saved it. Our waitress was pretty disappointing. I came to the Farragut Longhorn to celebrate a 6th anniversary with my boyfriend and a nice steak. The waitress was nice, and she was trying, but started the experience off by knowing next to nothing about their available draft and bottled beers. She told us that it was happy hour and all drafts were $3. Sounds great. Boyfriend asks if Newcastle is on draft and if not asked how much the bottles are. She says she's not sure but will get a list and come back with prices. He says thanks and if Newcastle is on draft since it's happy hour and only $3 he'll go ahead and take that. She comes back with no beer list or prices and a bottle, not draft, of Newcastle. We ask how much the bottle is and she has no idea, only asks is thats ok? No, but oh well. I still want a beer for $3 so I order off the draft menu, she leaves only to come back a few moments later to tell me happy hour isn't actually going on today and they're regular price... -_- . No plates to eat our bread on, never brings any even after asking. Asked for a side of dressing for my salad, the whole side of the cup was covered in dressing. She never even put in our appetizer order after 25+ minutes, had to just cancel it. Boyfriend asked for a water, she even came back by the table later saying "and I'll be right back with that water", the water came basically by the end of the meal. When the bill came, the appetizer we never got was still on it, had to get it removed. HOWEVER Jay, the manager, stopped by our table to ask how our experience was. We told him it was ok. When he asked details because he could tell the experience wasn't great, we told him the food was wonderful WHICH IT WAS. I had a rare filet which was perfectly cooked and seasoned with creamed spinach which was delicious. Boyfriend had the ribeye also delicious and perfectly cooked. The service however we just sort of hinted was sub par (it's hard to tell someone's superior that they did a bad job..) he understood immediately without making us be explicit about it. He apologized, asked about our reason for coming and after a little chat sent us home with some pie -with a number 6 iced on it for our 6th anniversary, what a detail!- and a gift certificate for a future visit. He totally saved the day and made it a good experience where it would have been a bad probably never return kind...
Read moreThis the 2nd time in 2 weeks eating at the Turkey Creek location. When we ate there 2 weeks ago I was seriously disappointed. I complained to the waiter the first time because of the salads. They were full of yellow lettuce and wilted and rotting various greens. He said he would have a manager come to our table. Needless to say we never saw the manager. We always get the Porterhouse steak. It is half New York Strip and half Filet. The steak had a lot of fat and grizzle. This tells me it's a poor quality of beef. I complained once again, explained I did not want our check comped, just wanted to call attention to the poor quality of food. Our service was as bad as the food. It was not busy but you would have thought our waiter was waiting on 20 tables by himself. He could not get our order correct from the get go. He was taking the wrong items away leaving us to wait on the correct items. One of the steaks was to be cooked medium well and was medium rare. It was to have a Parmesan Crust which it did not. The waiter took it back to the kitchen and returned it with an outrageous amount of melted cheese on top. We couldn't get extra bread because it was having to bake. This evening was not much better. My salad had a huge yellow lettuce core covered over with mixed greens. When I removed it from my bowl my salad went down over half. There would be no way a prep cook could have missed it. It was a handful. This time I knew once again it would do no good to encourage improvement. We requested no bacon on our baked potatoes. They both arrived with bacon. I explained to the waitress I ordered extra everything with no bacon. I also do not get onions on mine. She said she would get me another one. She brings me extra cheese and some onions to the table...no potato. I replied I thought she was bringing a potato with no bacon. After awhile she returned with it. Once again bread had to bake. I ordered mushrooms with my meal also. We were just about finished with our meal when she brought our check to the table. I asked about my mushrooms. She returned and said they would take a couple of minutes to cook. I ended up getting them in a to go container. I never want from good but would think a manager would encourage suggestions for improvement. I gave this restaurant 2 stars instead of 1. The reason being...the meaty part of the steak melts...
Read moreOnly reason I am giving a one star is that is as low as it goes. Very bad experience and the manager who he said he owns the building is the most rude manager I have ever seen. We went in with our 2 year old granddaughter to have a meal on a Sunday afternoon and it was bad from the start. After ordering our meals they bring one adult meal and the child’s meal. The child’s cheeseburger blood running out of it and the waiter said it is fine just looks like it is not done. Well blood on the plate was first clue. Sent it back and when they finally brought it back it was a full size adult bacon cheeseburger. We said what is this and we got oh they messed up , again. They brought the adult meal without fries and I asked where are the fries and got a response we are working on them. How hard is it to do fries and burger same time. Well the manager came out and we questioned him about the kids meal and we got a response let her eat what she wants of it we gave you a big one in the small burgers place, which meant we messed up again. That was not the worse part. It was his tone. My wife commented we didn’t need you to come out here with a bad attitude and get smart about it we just wanted our meal right. He immediately said get out of my restaurant now. So we said fine. My daughter had come to get our granddaughter after she got through eating and had sat down to wait on her , when she got up her purse bumped a lamp that obviously was missing a nut because it fell onto the table so as we was walking out he ran out and started taking pictures of license plates. I went back in to see what happened and it was all because the retaining nut was missing but he was yelling you was destroying my property get out now or I will call the law. I asked for the main number and he said it is on the door. After leaving I personally called the police department and explained what had happened and the officer said didn’t seem like no issue to him. In all my years I have never seen so bad of service and such a poor way to handle a problem which was on them. Who wants a 2 year old to eat a burger with blood running from it. Sorry for the length but figured it would be easily to understand the issue. Definitely stay...
