We really had high hopes for Seasons. Having recently moved here, we utilize Google reviews to guide us to places to give our business. I must say that the personnel and hospitality aspect of seasons is quite exceptional. We were greeted with a smile by the lovely hostess, and the bartender was also very friendly and engaged in conversation. The establishment appeared clean and the restrooms were also in order. However, we were not enamored with the food whatsoever. We ordered the cornmeal crusted calamari, which was not crispy at all. They serve gigantic, almost octopus like pieces of “calamari” that absolutely needed severe amounts of crunch to offset the sheer bulk of meat. Unfortunately the much needed crisp shell that should accompany such a bulky piece of calamari meat was sorely missing. And to be honest, I don’t really think that cornmeal has any benefit over traditional breadcrumb or battered dipped calamari. It definitely did not increase the flavor profile or create a better overall experience than traditional italian or spicy thai style calamari.
I ordered the season traditional burger medium with cheddar and pesto aioli. Wife ordered veggie platter.
My burger was cooked well done… so a miss there…however it was a substantial burger to be honest… but the cheddar didn’t seem to match well with the garlic aioli. Fries were not hot and crispy….rather warm and borderline soggy. Wifes veggies platter was overloaded with pita and rice and overpowered by balsamic.
We weren’t upset per se. But we definitely were not impressed….
This seems to be a common thread here in the Farragut area…places seem upscale and high end but really fall short when it comes down to the nitty gritty food wise.
I will reiterate…the personnel were super nice. Tap beers were properly carbonated.
3.5-3.8 stars based on hospitality alone. Had a better burger at lonestar steakhouse ngl. 😬
I’m not saying we won’t be back, but the overall experience of our first time did not lend itself to me wanting to come back .
Seeing that this establishment barely responds to any of the borderline reviews, I will assume that they don’t particularly care about what patrons think about their restaurant. Which is a shame because this place definitely...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to give this place another try. After our last experience, Nov 2016, we just were not impressed. The food was good, but the service was just bad. With COVID, we're trying to support local businesses as best as we can.
We had reservations at 6:15. We arrived at 6:00 and were immediately seated. It took roughly 10 minutes for a waiter to come by and bring water. It took another 10 to 15 or so minutes for him to bring bread. Keep in mind, at this point; we're 20-30 minutes into the visit and still haven't ordered. Sometime after that, we did order. My wife and I both ordered the filet, and she ordered it medium, I ordered med-rare.
Now, the wait started. Eventually, the waiter came by to let us know the food was coming. Another person came by after that to say the kitchen is running behind. We get that it happens.
Finally, at 7:18, our food arrived. Three groups were surrounding us that came in after we did have their food. That's correct. Two parties of four, a couple, all came in after we did. Ordered and got their meal before we did.
On to the food - Both steaks were medium, but my wife's was cold. Yes, it was cold. Honestly, my wife never complains. She always just accepts whatever food is brought to her, generally speaking. But she did not like the steak being cold after we waited so long. Some person came by and asked about the food, and uncharacteristically my wife just was point-blank said it was terrible. Anyway, the lady took the steak.
My steak, although overcooked, was good. I can eat medium, so it wasn't a big deal. The mashed potatoes were hot and good. The steak was tender, had great flavor. Overall, my meal was fine.
The lady returned with my wife's new steak. It was hot but med-rare. My wife barely eats medium so I gave her what was left of my steak and I finished hers.
Everyone, staff wise, we encountered were super friendly and we don't have any complaints there. But the wait for the food, people coming in, well after us, getting their food first, just doesn't work for us. Our last experience wasn't good, and that was in 2016; I don't believe in saying never but I don't see us...
Read moreI write this reluctantly because, in the past, this has been one of my favorite dining experiences. In fact if you search previous reviews, you’ll find a 5 star that I wrote. Where do I start? My last experience a few months ago was not great but I let that go, everyone has a bad night. Last weekend, we arrived for our reservation and we were seated promptly but I had had specifically asked for a booth but were told none were available. We saw a few that were unoccupied but when we asked about being seated there, the hostess said they were unavailable but we could give up our reservation and wait for an available opening. Reluctantly we chose to be seated. When the server arrived (very nice, very pleasant) she let us know that a couple of servers had not come in or went home sick and that she was covering additional tables than was normal. We should be patient, she would do her best. Okay that was understandable, these things can be beyond the control of the restaurant. We prepared ourselves for slower than normal service. Just the opposite happened. We were still eating our salads/soups when the entrees were brought out and served. Plates were jammed onto the table. We tried to finish our starters but just gave up and had them removed. When we started with the entrees they were COLD! How the heck were they cold when it seemed they were rushed out of the kitchen? Were they precooked? Who knows? Earlier I mentioned I had a negative experience that I overlooked, that experience was very much like this one. I understand that everyone is dealing with staffing issues post COVID and it is difficult to attract and keep good people, so some issues have to expected. But I expect so much from this excellent restaurant and have not had a good experience twice in a row. It has been disappointing .
(First review) (5 star) If you're ever in Knoxville, a great restaurant, food to die for, good bar and wine list. I had the corn chowder and filet, my wife had the wedge salad and linguine. Everything was great. Staff was polite, attentive without being hovering. I’ve had dinner here several times and have never been...
