If you're looking for an authentic and flavorful Mexican dining experience in Knoxville, Dos Agaves Mexican Grill is an absolute gem that should be at the top of your list. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that perfectly blends festive decor with a relaxed, family-friendly vibe. The staff is incredibly attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, always ready to offer recommendations with a smile. The food is where Dos Agaves truly shines. Every dish we've tried has been bursting with fresh ingredients and bold, authentic flavors. Their street tacos are a mustâperfectly seasoned and served on fresh tortillas. The carne asada is tender and grilled to perfection, and the enchiladas verdes are packed with flavor and topped with just the right amount of tangy green sauce. They also have a great selection of vegetarian options, which is always appreciated. One of the standout features of Dos Agaves is their drink menu. The house margaritas are refreshing, perfectly balanced, and come in a variety of flavors. If you're in the mood for something a little different, the jalapeño margarita is a spicy twist that doesnât disappoint. Service is consistently fast and efficient, even during busy hours, and the prices are very reasonable for the generous portion sizes. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch, enjoying a date night, or meeting up with friends, Dos Agaves delivers every time. Overall, Dos Agaves Mexican Grill offers a fantastic mix of quality food, great service, and a vibrant atmosphere. It's clear that this is a restaurant that takes pride in what they doâand it shows.    Read moreI think the waiter was slightly deaf, and he also doesn't seem much interested in his job because as I ordered my husband an unsweetened tea, my husband arrived at the same time and said he wanted a diet Pepsi instead. But the waiter just walked away and when we called him he just ignored us (we both called and my husband almost yelled) but the waiter just continued walking. When the waiter brought the tea he did exchange it for a diet Pepsi. The waiter then went to sit in a booth and turned his radio on loud. There were not many people there (pretty empty with a few patrons) so there was no excuse for the long service.
The waiter came 15 -20 mins later to take our order and left. God it was long. When he brought the food to us he said that we were not supposed to sit there as it was for a party of 12 but nearer the windows. Excuse me but when I asked if he had other tables he said these were the only ones. I'm handicapped and he wanted us to go to a farther table?
But since we got our food we didn't get up. I ordered a chicken fiesta. It was ok but not something to write home about. Nothing spectacular, I've had better elsewhere.
My husband liked his food but he also found the service lacking. He needed a refill but no one was available. He even saw someone and the guy did look at us but didn't do anything.
I suggest you read the low reviews. The place may have a star rating of 4.4 (183) and only 117 people rated it high but the rest are...
Read moreLiterally the BEST, and I mean BEST AUTHENTIC MEXICAN RESTAURANT in Knoxville! We have been loyal customers since Azul Tequila (their original restaurant). Our favorites are the chimichangas, molcajete, enchiladas doña carlos, and you have to try the Chorizo Dip! We try to go at least 3 to 4 times a month just to get our Mexican food fix. The portion sizes are large for a very reasonable price. We spent about $20/piece for 2 people.
Carlos the owner/manager is super friendly, and youâll usually see him helping where he is needed. His wait staff is super friendly as well and can answer any questions you have about a menu item. We are so happy that they went from a renovated Burger King in Farragut (Azul Tequila) to this beautiful restaurant in Turkey Creek, and to see their restaurant filled to a brim makes us proud to know they have expanded and other customers can experience authentic Mexican food. You wonât find another one like it in Knoxville!! Go support Dos Agave, a family owned restaurant! I promise you wonât regret it and leave will your stomach filled...
