I brought a table & 4 stools from the Amish Elegance Store, Campbell Station Rd., Knoxville. Their furniture is exquisite, beautiful, but expensive. I also brought a glider-rocking chair, which is just beautiful. I am a 76 year old, sold my house & moved into a independent living facility. I needed a smaller kitchen table to fit into my smaller living space. This would be the last purchase of a table in my life. I ordered a 36" table top, thinking it would fit. Ordered 12/24, to wait 6-8 weeks for it to be made by the builders. It came & was delivered, but the table top did not fit the base. They had to return it for remaking. I would have to wait for another few weeks. Still waiting. I did not have a table at all. I called them to see if they could send something, anything to eat on, while I waited longer. They agreed to bring a 36" table for me to use until the original table came in, which was very nice, but they did not volunteer to do this. I had to ask. In the meantime, I realized that the 36" table was too small, & I really needed a 42" instead. Since they had made a mistake with the first table. I thought that maybe they would be agreeable to make a 42" top to put on the base and keep the 36" top to use elsewhere. They were still repairing the table at that time. I called & asked & was told that they probably would not be able to do this for me, but that I could speak with the manager and ask. I asked for her & was told that she would call me. After waiting a day, I called back & was told again that she would return me call. I decided to drive out to the store & speak with her in person. I met her that morning. I explained my problem & the request for the larger table top to be put on the base, and I would pay the difference in the cost of the larger size. I begged her to please help me, since I made a mistake also, in the size. And the fact that this would probably be my last table to buy. She said that she would speak with the builder that day, and call me later that afternoon & let me know. I asked to speak with the builder, & was denied. I waited the rest of the day, with no response from her. I called the next day, 2 additional times; but was told that she was busy. She called around 5pm that evening & said that the builder would put a larger top on my base. She said that the 36" top was mine but they would add an additional 42" top for additional amount of money, wait an additional 4-8 weeks; plus, pay half of it right not & the rest at delivery. I said I was so disappointed in this decision, but she refused to discuss the decision further. I thought the Amish were kind people, but I was wrong. When they make mistakes, they say that they are only human, but when the customer request a change because they are also human, they are not willing to work with us. I would have given them so much PR compliments, but not now. Furniture is beautiful but the people are not! So, now I have a 36" table top for sale, if I get it, when the 44" top comes in. Anyone want to buy a beautiful 36" Amish table top?
I need to retract the above review. I received a call from the owner of the store today & we had a long conversation. She was able to explain the reason for their policies & I understood. It was very thoughtful & considerate of her to call & explain their reasoning. I really appreciated that. I was wrong in my opinion of this company. They do care about their customers & she proved that when she phoned me. Thank...
Read moreSorry to be long winded but I have to tell this story.
We purchased a floor model table from here in the past and absolutely loved the table.
When my wife went back at a later date she saw a mirror/ jewelry cabinet she liked and ordered one in the color and accessories she wanted. Unbeknownst to her this is when the nightmare began.
All this was done in November 2018. We received the piece in February 2019. We expected to wait on the piece but didn't expect the piece to be damaged in process of it being made and it being sent out to us anyways.
My wife called and gave her grievences with the piece of furniture. They graciously pick the piece up and since they were going to have to reorder the piece my wife made changes to the color of the wood and the felt inside to be black.
My wife inquired about the lock that you can purchase to have put on the cabinet and the owner at Amish elegance said she would have one out on for free for our troubles.
She was told by the owner that she would personally go and make sure that everthing was done correctly and that they would have the piece in by may.
May came and nothing, no phone call to update her as to the status of the piece. My wife calls and then they tell her it would be the first week of June. It came and went.
In the end She received the piece today 7-2-19. The cabinet looked fine but the felt that was supposed to be black is red and the key lock that was supposed to be installed on the cabinet was not there.
So don't hold your breath if you recieve a piece that is damaged and expect to get a replacement fast because it won't happen even if they say they will get it on the fast track. It took longer to get it the second time than it did to get it the first time.
Love their furniture but the customer service aspect is lacking. It's almost like once they have your money they could care less what happens. I hate to say it that way but that's...
Read moreI always knew of the Amish furniture quality from years past. Was so happy to find a store right here in Knoxville. After looking in all the run -of-the-mill furniture stores, I decided to go to Amish Elegance and check it out. I walked in and was greeted by Angie Carroll. I thought that there is no way I could afford a dining room set from there. I got some information from her and her card. After about a week, I called her and asked her if she remembered me and she did. I wanted to come back in and talk to her to just see if I could swing this. I knew what I wanted and it could only be a certain size to fit into my dining area. I also only had a certain amount of money to spend. She worked it all out with me and stayed around my budget amount. Sent for some stain samples on oak and sent me home with them to try to match as close as possible to my hutch. My furniture came on Tuesday and it is absolutely beautiful !!!! Almost a perfect match. The quality is beyond anything I have ever seen before and that includes the personal service. The delivery guys were great and very careful with my floors. Thank you Angie for making my dreams come true. ...
