Posting a review so others won't be surprised by current conditions. I was unaware at the time of checkin, and so was the group who checked in right before I did. ||The hotel lobby is undergoing signficant renovations at this time (week of Feb 10, 2025). Standard free hot breakfast is being served in the mornings, but there is nowhere to sit and eat it. You need to take your food up to your room. Pretty inconvenient if you're trying to fuel up before a workday. ||The workout room is not available at all. Entrance to the hotel is currently at the back of the building and there is minimal parking available for guests, due to the placement of several dumpsters supporting the renovation. ||You're not supposed to enter through the side doors because of the ongoing work. Due to heavy rain and non-availability of parking, I went up to my 3rd floor room via the east stairs. There were rolls of carpet being staged ON the 2nd flight of stairs. It didn't quite hit me until the next morning, the significance of this observation: ||The stairs are how guests are supposed to exit in the event of an emergency. If there's a fire, I have to use the stairs. And they're cluttered up with carpet rolls. ||As I was checking out (two days early, to move to a property that was functioning normally), I asked the staffer at the front desk to please ensure workers don't continue storing supplies on the stairs. She looked surprised and offered that she could try to have the stairs blocked off. I pointed out that the stairs are the fire escape for guests. It took a moment, but she got it and promised to address it. ||I hope that's been taken care of. I have enjoyed staying at this Hampton Inn in the past, and I recognize that a renovation is a temporary situation. But you should take the time to notify guests beforehand that the advertised amenities aren't going to be available. And please... don't ever block the stairs. If there's ever a fire, it could literally mean life or death for...
Read moreA recent 2 night stay at the Hampton Inn Turkey Creek in Knoxville, TN, I can say that we will never be staying with Hampton Inn again. They have turned off any air conditioning in the hallways, it was extremely hot in the hallways and it’s not yet the middle of summer in Tennessee. The room temperature is now on a motion sensor and limits how low you can turn the air conditioning. That meant that when we got to the room, it was hot and humid. I turned the a/c on as low as it would go, we went to dinner and by the time we came back it was again hot and humid. I called the front desk and was told about the motion sensors and that they used to be able to override them but that option was taken away from them. I woke up in the middle of the night and had to turn the a/c back on. Had to turn it back on in the morning again, meaning after 1 shower the room was so hot and humid that getting ready was impossible without breaking out in a sweat. The bed was made with a torn sheet, a filthy duvet with a dirty duvet cover. I understand saving money, however, not at the expense of guest comfort. We will be choosing hotels that prioritize guest comfort from now on. The pool is a tiny, unheated outdoor pool off the main parking lot, no pool...
Read moreHorrible experience. We had to get our keys reprogrammed on the average of twice a day, they blamed it on cell phones and credit cards. My key was no where close. When we arrived the toilet bowl was filthy and we were told that there was no one there to help. Housekeeping didn't show up until the last night of our 5 day stay. Dogs barking and howling in the middle of the night. Also, dogs roaming around the breakfast buffet. They cited that they are supporters of the American Disability Act. Well, so are we. These were clearly not Service Animals, they were House pets roaming around the open buffet area. This hotel is not normal for the Hilton/Hampton Inn. I have stayed in many and have never had a problem with any such thing. After contact to the management, they have offered me pretty much a slap in the face and are trying to make it seem like no one cares. There are nicer hotels within a half mile or less that you will receive better treatment at for about the same cost. We travel to that area a lot and the Fairfield Inn just up the road is much cleaner, up to date and there buffet area is much...
