Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Fayetteville

We were on a 8/9hour trip, drove through the area and was hungry so stopped by this location. We ordered a chicken sandwich and number 10 (pop corn chicken) and we asked for large drinks. it took about 10mins for get our food. We got it left to get back on the road and it was a number 2(smash burger) and the drinks were mediums. Im pregnant and the smell of the burger was making me gag so we turned around bc i couldnt eat it. They made us the chicken but it took another 10mins. When talking to the lady in the speakers we were nice and just said there was a mistake and we wanted popcorn chicken with BBQ dipping sauce. So after waiting the 10mins they came out with the popcorn chicken and pretty much threw it in our hands and went inside. Looked in the bag, no sauce. Called on the speakers again still nice and just asked for BBQ. But this experience was so bad it was comical. Not only does it look ran down, the food has a weird taste. The customer service was just absolutely awful. Ive worked in the food industry I know its super annoying, its hot, its alot of everything! This was absolutely terrible and i would be embarrassed to call this my work place. The girls continued to cut us off on the speaker. The place was not busy there was our car and one other car. The girls were inside just texting in one of the corners they just rotated on using the corner the whole 20-30min...

This review is of a one time visit... I don't frequent this particular Sonic, however I do another location. I always order a cherry limeade every time. As usual that is what I ordered- as I was waiting on my change, I tried my drink. I thought, hmm, this doesn't taste quite like usual. When the hop brings my change I tell him it tastes and looks a bit off from what I usually receive... he directly brings another and its tastes/looks the same as the first. He says his manager said that it is correct and he doesn't know what to do. I walk in and the manager is right there so I indicate it doesn't seem right- THIS IS WHERE MY COMPLAINT TRULY STARTS- she immediately gets super defensive and says its made the way is suppose to be made. I am a bit taken back and let her know from my previous experiences at the other Sonic it seems to be lacking cherry flavor. She rolls her eyes as a cup goes flying to the side of her and hatefully says "Then you need to order an extra shot of cherry." To which I tell her there is no need to be rude/hateful and I am a paying customer! Of course she recoils and says I was not trying to be rude... I wan't at all trying to be a pain but darn I didn't deserve to be spoken to in...

Yeah, this is tough. In the past 6 years Sonic has taken a nosedive. 7 years ago Sonic was solid. Today Sonic is sketchy. Tell me you think the portions are reasonable. Tell me you DON'T suffer gastrointestinal distress after consuming their product. I'm loathed to call it food. I've been patient, thought it was just one location, but no. 5 States, 5 years. Even that cute Sonic in Alpine, Texas (if you know, you know). DOM Rock, top of the hill, on the Rio Grande. Anyway, I lived in that 1 room shack 8 miles downriver for 10 years. Off-grid, water from a spring.

I digress. Sonic is garbage. Sorry, y'all. McDonald's suffers the same blight. And I haven't darkened the door of a Burger King since '03.

My favorite? There's a grotty little joint in Lawrence, Kansas. Vietnam Cafe. Straight-up street food. Delicious phoʻ, banh mi... there's a nail salon at the end of the bar.
