This is the best BBQ I have ever had! My husband and I have frequented another restaurant in town for years, but after today, we will be back!!! Girls Gone BBQ is our new favorite spot. Our only regret is not discovering this amazing establishment sooner!
I was present at the restaurant during the incident involving Ms. Mink, and I can confidently say her account of the situation is completely false. The misunderstanding occurred when two DoorDash drivers arrived simultaneously for the same customer, each with different orders. Ms. Mink, who appeared to be the second driver, falsely claimed the restaurant was refusing the order. The owner handled the situation with complete professionalism, calmly clarifying the mix-up to DoorDash support when they called. Despite this, Ms. Mink became increasingly rude and confrontational. When asked to leave and leave the food, she swung the delivery bag out of the owner’s reach, nearly striking another customer. The owner had to escort her to the door to maintain the restaurant's atmosphere and safety for other patrons. Ms. Mink finally left with the bag of food only after the owner locked the door.
What’s even more troubling is that Ms. Mink and her husband have since taken retaliation to a personal level by harassing me. After I left my original review correcting her false claims, she sent harassing messages to me via Facebook, submitted complaints to my employer’s website, and left unwarranted one-star reviews for my employer on Google. This behavior is not only petty but also deeply unprofessional. To the point were I had to file a police report.
Girls Gone BBQ deserves recognition for their incredible food, welcoming atmosphere, and the owner’s ability to skillfully manage even the most challenging situations. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for the best BBQ in town. Let’s support businesses like this that genuinely care about their customers...
Read moreAs a vegetarian, I really appreciate being able to go to a BBQ place and have options when I eat with family and friends. Girls Gone BBQ put thought and effort into their side items as well as their menu items that are meatless. The grilled greens were smokey and delightful. The apple slaw was cool, crisp and a nice relief from the spicy flavor of some of the sides(I think it was the black eyed peas). They're make you sniffle a little spicy, but not make you sweat spicy. The seasonal butternut squash was my favorite. Charred, in a good way. Great flavor. Everything definitely has a smokey profile to it, but I loved it and thought each vegetable choice was thoughtful. The peas needed to cook a teensy bit longer and were somehow slightly cold in comparison to the hot greens and squash, but they were delicious. As a new restaurant, working out these tiny kinks comes with time. The macaroni and cheese was too spicy for my kiddo, but I loved it, and I usually hate macaroni and cheese.
I looked at the bottom of the bowls and plates because they're so cute and have a vintage vibe to them. Seating was comfortable and staff was helpful with several follow up requests for dessert and to go boxes. This place is definitely LGBTQIA friendly and you can feel safe with the staff there. Unsweet tea was well made and I appreciated the eco-conscious to go containers. I'll be back to try the other vegetarian options and share the delicious looking pulled pork with...
Read moreI personally will rarely choose a BBQ place to eat, but my dad loves BBQ and we went here to eat today for the first time. My treat bc they’ve been helping me so much. I couldn’t find anything I was wild about on the menu (again- it’s just because I’m not a big meat eater), so I ordered the pepper jack mac & cheese and cole slaw. The owner who was working the counter after taking my parent’s order and then mine, picked up on my uneasiness of the menu. She offered a vegan sandwich (I think it was the vegan Sammie) that would accommodate the sides I wanted at nearly the same price as what I was willing to pay for just my sides (I think the difference was $2 if I’m not mistaken). She told me how much everyone loves these vegan curls on a sandwich, to which I was very hesitant about, and even my mother vouched for me being a very picky eater (I know I am. lol). But, she said if I hated it, she’d refund me. It was so good y’all…. I had a completely clear plate by the time I left. I will very much enjoy visiting again!! I just want to shout out the owner for offering to give her patrons a chance to try something when I was clearly very uneasy about it, and if it didn't work out, she was fully invested in the process. That was really cool to see. Thank you for being...
