Johnny's Chicken and Barbecue — Restaurant in Fayetteville

This was my first time coming here since they’ve opened and me and my fiancé have been really excited to try this place. We finally placed an order online to try, $42 for our two plates, a pint of bbq and a side of yams. I got the chicken and bbq, which when on the description it said chicken with bbq sauce, not that it was also bbq but its fine, that wasn’t the issue. The food was lukewarm, the chicken was dry, the mac and cheese was so dry, I couldn’t stand eating it. The side if yams, that was $3.99 mind you, was in a cup you would out a side of sauce in. The only flavor it had was cinnamon, couldn't even taste the yams itself. The bbq was okay, not the best as everyone else on here claims it to be. My fiancé’s cabbage was so disgusting, he took one bite and didn’t wanna touch it again. Also, the hushpuppies, they look like friend greenbeans. A normal hushpuppy looks like it is a little fat piece of bread. These did not resemble hushpuppies at all and yet again, were also not good. I also did not like the experience I had at the register. The cashier as soon as i tell him i’m there to pick up, decides to just continuously hit on me, stare and smile at me very weirdly, and try to offer me to wear his hat since it was cold outside. He also decided to tell me about how “my man should be inside, not me. You supposed to sit in the car.” Kind of weird to say to a stranger that you’ve never met before, especially when i stated this was my first time ever...

I just left Johnny's and did not want to get out of the car. I went through the drive through and ordered an 8 piece family pack with 2 sides. I asked for dark meat only and told the young man that I do not want any breast. He informed me that they only had 5 dark pieces and they could substitute the rest with wings or I can wait 15 minutes for more dark pieces to be cooked. I decided to take the wings cause I was ready to get home. He handed me my sides and then the chicken box. I asked again if there was no breast in the box and he says to me that he checked it himself. I decided to check the box before I pulled off and I'm glad that I did. The very first piece in the box was a breast. Then it was only seven pieces in the box. It had 1 breast, 1 thigh, 1 leg, and 4 wings. He acted surprised although he obviously lied about checking the box. Afterall, It is a chicken place so I know everyone in that restaurant knows that difference between a breast and a thigh. I do not like being taken advantage of especially when I have paid you for my food. I ended up having to wait for fresh chicken to be dropped anyway. I hate situations like this because you don't know people now a days and when they are cooking your food they may have an attitude and do all sorts of ungodly things. Any-who, I prayed hard over my food, as always. I must admit that the fresh chicken was pretty good. The sides...

Just left Johnny's empty handed and hungry 😢 The Fried Chicken is amazing but the way they changed how you can order is absurd ! they no longer serve to please the customer. We ate there once a week and I always order the 2 Piece fried chicken plate (Legs) with 2 sides, and I would add a 3rd leg to the order. Now you can only order the way the distributor packages the chicken( is what I was told), which is INSANE! So you can't have white and dark mix. So we proceeded to order the 4 piece with 2 sides (Just going to deal with what chicken we got). Then after we do all the ordering then he tells us the sides are extra and don't come with the chicken, when we asked at the beginning is it a 4 piece plate! The 2 of us would get our 3 piece plates and 2 sides each for about $26-$28. After he rang up the 4 piece meal for us both, the bill was already up to $36, and he hadn't even rang up our sides. After that we walked out! They don't care about pleasing the customer anymore, which is a shame. I was a big advocate for Johnny's and recommended them to everyone, but if they can't even serve a 2 Piece fried chicken legs plate and add a extra leg, then the hassle isn't worth it, no matter how good the food is. Not sure if it's so they can charge more or what, but to put rules on how people can order their food is crazy. I won't be back unless they change this...
