The service was less than adequate for a restaurant that was not very busy. We came in with a group of 8. We waited about 10 minutes to be waited on, which was no big deal. After we ordered it took a while to get our drinks, ordered some food, and waited awhile to get that. Once our food came, it was great, we had finished eating and asked for our checks and told the waitress how it was separated. It took her 10 minutes to come back; she then ended up writing it down how it was supposed to be separated. We then waited 20 minutes for our checks, and they were utterly messed up. The waitress seemed annoyed that our checks were incorrect and ripped them out of people’s hands when told they were incorrect. Those with the incorrect checks then had to wait another 10 minutes to get the correct tickets. Once she brought back the “correct checks,” they were still wrong. She was then frustrated with us again because they were still wrong. A manager (I guess) came to talk to us about how it was incorrect and how we wanted them to fix it and gave us the reason it took so long was that the computer crashed. This would not have been an issue if they had told us that to begin with. We told the (manager?) it was frustrating that the checks kept coming back wrong. The (manager?) proceeded to tell us, “I don’t need an attitude,” and we just stopped talking. We tried to get our checks for well over 30 minutes and were then met with horrendous customer service. I was really excited to try Marleys, and it certainly was one of the most disappointing food experiences I have ever had. As a college student who works in the foodservice industry, I understand that it is hard sometimes and things go wrong, but I know if “adults” had been there it would have been a completely different experience. I have never been so disrespected as a paying customer just...
Read moreI went to have a nice enjoyable dinner with a group of 6 girlfriends, and was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED!! Here’s what happened: We got to Marleys at 6 pm for the reservations we made. Our server took forever to take our drink orders, and then let our drinks sit up at the bar for almost ten minutes before we finally reminded her that they were sitting there waiting to be brought to us. We also ordered appetizers at the same time as our drinks. Got those in a fairly timely manner. Fast forward to 637 when she FINALLY came back to take our food order. We order some pizzas and sandwiches and start snacking on our appetizers (that were mediocre at best). Had to flag down a different waitress about 15-20 mins later to order another round of drinks. We get them fairly quickly from the super nice girl working the bar (none of this was her fault—it was our waitress and the “manager” that did not exists fault) and continue to sit and wait for our food. Finally at 737 we flag down the really nice bartender girl again and ask her if she can check on the status of our order bc we have a show to be at in 20 mins. We sit there and listen to her talking to the others in the kitchen, and hear them clearly say that they never got our order. Our waitress bailed out of her shift for an “emergency” and didn’t even bother to let the kitchen or other servers know that she needed someone to take over our table and our order that she never put in. This was my first and last time ever going to Marley’s. Especially after them literally sitting here trying to say that their customer “made up her own version of the truth”. BAD BUSINESS MARLEYS!!! 0/10 DO...
Read moreI want to start off with a disclaimer that I am a Chicago native, born and raised in Chicago not a suburb (lived in Cicero till I was 18 then moved to wrigleyville until 9 years ago) so I know my Chicago pizza. That being said, Marley's has the sauce down, delicious and I can tell it is homemade!! The crust is spot on down to the cornmeal dusting on the bottom and the perfectly browned upper crust of the deep dish pie. The cheese is superb and and more than enough to satisfy your cravings. The chicken wings are well prepared, fresh wings (not frozen or from yesterday), and thoroughly cooked and delicious. The hot honey sauce is an amazing combination of sweet and spicy but not overly sweet or overly spicy. They're cooked all the way through with a nice crisp to them, I suggest ordering them, I got them on a Wednesday when they were 60 cents a piece. I got them with a ranch sauce and their ranch sauce is delicious!!!! I mention the ranch sauce because we all know there's good ranch and there's not good ranch, do they have the good ranch... I'm licking it off my fingers as I'm typing. I'm leaving four stars because while the flavor is amazing the toppings were a little scarce. I know this is based upon the person that's making the pizza and also the level of orders they have received they might have been rushed. That being said this is a solid pizza and the flavor is amazing along with the wings so if you're in the area I recommend Marley's if you're wanting traditional Chicago deep dish pizza and...
