As someone who has traveled across the country and eaten at countless McDonald’s locations, I’ve had my fair share of experiences—some good, some frustrating. Unfortunately, my experiences at the McDonald’s on Sycamore Dairy Road in Fayetteville, North Carolina, have been consistently underwhelming.
Let’s start with the positives. The location is convenient, which is why I continue to give it a chance. The people I’ve met at McDonald’s in general, including at this location, are usually friendly, which makes the experience a little better. However, friendliness alone doesn’t make up for poor service and inconsistent food quality.
One of the biggest issues here is the lack of hot, fresh food. McDonald’s is known for its fast service, but too often, speed seems to take priority over quality. More often than not, my order is incorrect, forcing me to either go back through the drive-thru or inside to get it fixed. That’s frustrating when you’re expecting a simple, quick meal.
It’s also clear that management plays a crucial role in the success or failure of any business, and this location could benefit from serious leadership changes. Sometimes, to truly improve a business, you need to go beyond small fixes. Just like putting new shoelaces on old shoes won’t make them better, keeping the same management and expecting different results won’t work either. Strong leadership, proper training, and accountability are what make a fast-food restaurant run smoothly.
At the end of the day, I keep coming back because it’s the closest McDonald’s to home, and I always hope that one day, they’ll get my order right and serve it fresh. Until then, it remains a place of convenience rather...
Read moreThis place is always slow and the heavy set African American man that's usually working the menu broad and window seems to never want to do his job and always causes there to be 20-30 min waits. One night I was in line for 45+ mins. I am currently in line right now writing this review and it's 12:15 on December 18 2021. I've been here for almost 35 mins. He also always has an attitude and cusses regularly around the customers. And it seems like he's the manager on charge because of the shirt he is wearing. It's really unprofessional and makes McDonald's look bad. And the food is almost always cold by the time I get around from the menu board to the window. I asked for fresher fries and he gave me attitude as he went to go get the fries. This location needs to do better. One night I was sitting there for 45 minutes because he claimed that they were doing change over but I've worked in fast food for many of years and I was a GM for Smithfield's Chicken n' barbecue and I know when you do change over of cash registers you can do them while still taking money in orders but this wasn't the case for this McDonald's because he had me sitting at the menu board not wanting to do his job for over 30 minutes. And that was at 9:00 pm that night. I didn't leave the McDonald's until nearly 10:30 pm. This location needs to seriously talk to that gentleman about his professionality and his work ethic or they need to find a replacement. His attitude, efficiency, and overall performance is just not acceptable for fast food. This is been a really aggravating occurrence each and every time I visit this location. And I visit it often because my home is down the...
Read moreLast week, I went to McDonald’s on Bragg Blvd/Sycamore Dairy Rd and ordered a hot mocha coffee. Then, I went and sat at the table outside in front of the building and drank my coffee. After about 15 min, I decided to top off my coffee with some regular coffee to warm it up. I had drank about 2/3 of it and didn’t want to drink the last 1/3 cold. I walked in and one of the employees was refilling another ladies coffee cup. When I asked her to refill my cup, she told me she couldn’t do that because I came from outside. I said, “Yes, I was sitting at that table,” and pointed to the table out front. She again told me she couldn’t give me a refill and walked away. I was really embarrassed when I looked at the lady standing next to me who saw the exchange. Since, I couldn’t get anymore coffee, I asked a different employee for a cup for some water. She told me it would cost $.72, as she handed me a small child’s cup and walked away. I was so confused and offended and just took the cup, filled it with ice, and left. I’m not sure why anyone working in that type of place, a place that serves food and beverages, would be so unprofessional and rude to someone asking for a coffee refill and a cup of water. I paid over $4 for that cup of mocha coffee so, asking for a refill of regular doesn’t seem like an unreasonable request. McDonald’s, please train your employees on how to provide better customer service and maybe encourage them to be more considerate to the customers. And if we aren’t allowed to sit at the table out front and get refills, there needs to be a sign so patrons don’t have to be embarrassed when they try to get the...
