After tonight, I'm finally going to review this place.
Their waitstaff is always great, friendly, personable, and informative.
It is, however, the longest wait to get your food in the entire city of Fayetteville.
The food is decent, sometimes pretty good.
I've been many, many times, about once or twice a month for many years. I've brought many an out of town visitor, coworkers or family group into this restaurant as well.
2 years ago, I was at a little company party for the 6 people I worked with. It wasn't busy. We ordered and our food came 1 hour and 45 minutes later, and it wasn't made correctly. We were all very hungry and miserable at this point. .so we gave up and ate it. We were not willing to wait another 2 hours for it to be fixed.
Tonight was another story altogether.
Three patrons, arrive at 10:07pm. One pizza, one sandwich, one spaghetti was the order. The restaurant was not busy at all. It took 35 mins for our food (nearly to close), but when they brought it out, a member of our party (who really loves pasta) took note that her order was nothing at all like the menu said it would be. Giant meatballs, mushrooms, tomatoes, sauce, all on angel hair pasta.
This lady is a gourmet cook, she looks forward to good food!
The pasta was 1/8 of an inch thick, no mushrooms, and 5 spoonfuls of burnt dry meat, very disappointing.
She went to double check the menu to make certain she had not misread. While checking out the menu at the bar, the server came over to check on her.
After expressing her unhappiness at the meal, the cook in the kitchen began to yell at her, loud enough we could hear it at the table. He told her she was incorrect, that was angel hair pasta and then immediately that the menu reads that it comes with spaghetti, not angel hair anyway.
"If you just read the menu, it's all right there, I made it right!"
She showed him the menu, he then said that was angel hair... she pointed out that the other ingredients were also missing to which the man in the kitchen loudly mouthed off that she would just have to accept it like that because that's just the way it was!
She was then told the meal would be comped.. but she doesn't like thick, sticky pasta, that's why she ordered angel hair. .so she didn't want it. She began looking at the menu, as they offered to cook her something else.
The manager promptly came out and told her that he was about to shut the kitchen down so she was not allowed to order or eat anything from their menu.
We were done eating our meals at this point and she was still hungry. Evening outing with friends, ruined.
They offered to let her take the meal, so another member of the party could eat it and it wouldn't be wasted, she agreed.
We boxed up the thick pasta with dry meat scoops, and waited around another 20 minutes for our tickets. Its well after close at this point. The tickets came and they charged her for the meal. She asked about it and the manager said if she took it , she would be charged, but at a discount. So she gave him the food and the ticket back and we left.
The managers handling (or not handling) of this event was rude, unpersonable, and harsh. The extreme rudeness and shouting from the man in the kitchen was something I would consider a termination offense. I cannot imagine letting one of my staff speak to a customer that way without serious reprimand. However, the manager didn't seem to mind at all, and was nearly as delightful as the man in the kitchen.
Overall, I won't be back. Years of patronage, gone, and it could have been saved. But the manager really, truly didn't care at all.
If you are a college student that doesn't care about your food or how rude the management and some of the staff is, this is your place. If you want your order to be correct, timely, or to be treated with any kind of decent customer service, this is not the place you want to go..
I also want to reiterate, the waitstaff has always been awesome. Good job guys. The rest of the group I can't say...
Read moreHad the first strange to negative experience of any kind after visiting this place on a regular basis for four or five years.
Was out riding my bike and stopped in to get an iced tea and sit on the patio, cool down, watch the sunset, and maybe play Candy Crush on my phone. Who knows. First though the lady at the register gave me the third degree about who I was and what exactly I wanted to do while there. This is someone with whom I've transacted before and could swear she'd put a customer to a face by now, knowing the gist of my order. (I don't drink anymore so I only stop in for tea and I can't eat pizza so I only have the garden salad or wings.) Eventually she relented and decided it was probably okay if I had a tea on the porch--and nothing else. Very strange.
That said, this is one of the few if not only places in midtown worth checking out. Beer is good. Wings are good. Salad is good. Prices are more than affordable. The waitstaff is almost always incredibly helpful. The porch is clean. When the weather is nice the porch absolutely slays for a cold pint and some sunshine. The patronage is a good mix of folks and not bogged down with bros from way back when.
The one constant I've never been wild about is that this location is in one the nexuses for some of Fayetteville's "wanderers" and often enough they will shuffle by and stare in at you. Lock your bike if you roll up. Wear sunglasses if you're going outside.
High marks for this place....
Read moreFirst and LAST time!!! Went on a Saturday @ 3pm and sat on the patio with my dog. They were NOT busy. Took 20 minutes for our waitress to come introduce herself and bring drinks. Tried to order the Saturday drink specials we saw on the website. She informed us they didn’t honor the websites specials so we didn’t get the drinks we were originally coming for. So we ordered 1 appetizer, the meatballs, and waited another 40 minutes for it to arrive. Came to the table cold covered in hard rubbery cheese. You could tell it had been sitting in the window for quite some time waiting to be delivered! Our food came out 5 minutes after the appetizer. Which I’m assuming she forgot to order when we placed it. The pizza was hot but not fresh. It’s VERY obvious they use canned and precooked ingredients as nothing tasted homemade. The sauce was extremely watery and lacked ANY depth of flavor. Was VERY similar to a cheap Totinos frozen pizza with less flavor and a much higher price tag. When we were finished we had asked for the check multiple times and I guess she kept forgetting??? After waiting another half hour for the check my wife walked in to the restaurant put the money down and walked off. Was absolutely HORRIBLE experience. Was there almost 2 hours with most of it spent waiting for cold food with no flavor. Due yourself a favor and find...
