Purchased 2 cakes last week and was delighted to get a militaty discount. Came in today to purchase a cake and when I displayed my military ID, Lauren politely told me that my military ID is NOT excepted because I am a veteran. I explained to her that I had just came in last week and used my military ID for my previous two purchases. She then asked me was it her or someone else that gave a discount because if so, that was a mistake. I told her, I didn’t think that I had to memorize who gave discounts and who didn’t. So Lauren further informed me that military discounts are only applied to active duty members and spouses and clearly not veterans. That made me feel that my 23 years of honorable active duty service didn’t mean a thing to this establishment!!! It’s not so Much that I needed the 10% off, but the mere fact that It’s just shows appreciation for military service. But since when is a retired veterans service considered less than a “spouse” of an active duty individual!!! Oh yeah, “Nothing Bundt cakes” thinks this... This is an unfair policy towards VETERANS and quite ridiculous. News flash... this store is in an overly populated area where veterans live along with active duty members and there...
Read moreWe were very excited to get gift cards for my daughter’s teachers from this place. We were really excited to give it a shot! We ask the worker on the register about gift cards. She said “We don’t have those” very quick and rudely. They weren’t busy, so I apologized and said that I had seen they sell them online, to specifically inquire in store. Then she said “oh, well then we don’t have any right now.” Then presumed to open a drawer and pretend to look around. I asked when they would be restocked because I wanted to see about buying gift cards or vouchers for their business to give to teachers. And She fumbled and said “ I don’t know when we will get more.” I really wish I could have spoken to someone with more experience who could answer my questions better.
We did buy some Bundt cakes while there and they were delicious, but we will not be returning due to the poor customer service. Also, I know they do not have seating to eat, which is ok because they have many other items being sold besides Bundt cakes taking up space. But they should still offer napkins and plasticware at the counters for customers to grab on...
Read moreI visited this shop recently. The store is lovely, bright, clean and welcoming. I bought a small cake (bundlet) which I have to admit was pretty good! The sponge was moist, and the flavor was good. The frosting (for my taste) was way too sweet but that is clearly a matter of preference.
What skewed the experience towards the negative for me were two things: The price: A bundlet is a cake pretty much the size of a hefty cupcake and I find $5.00 a bit steep (even though I understand this is a business and they have overhead and want to make a profit...). Their larger cakes are massively more over-priced with a regular size bundt cake costing I asked for my purchase to not be put into a plastic bag (the bundlet was already packaged in a box). The young lady responded that it is their company policy that they have to put it in a bag - I insisted and was able to walk out with my bundlet box (without the bag).
I understand company policy but if a customer specifically requests such a small accommodation, just give...
