Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in Fayetteville

I came to Smithfield for the first time Monday, my best friend has always raved about the BBQ and banana pudding. The lady at the register was amazing. When the lady brought our food out she was the complete opposite as the first lady she was short snippy and rude. I get it may have had a long day. I looked down into the floor right beside me, and there was a dead cockroach. Looked in the window seal behind me and see lots of dead bugs. Gross. Who wants to eat around all those dead bugs? Same girl who brought our food out was cleaning tables and I showed her the cockroach and bugs hoping she would get them up before anyone else noticed. She just shrugged it off and ignored me. We got up threw our food away and left. If there's bugs in the lobby bets are there some in the kitchen too.. Again the register lady was great but the other issues will keep me from coming back. Way better ways to spend $60 then trying to eat around dead bugs. I normally wouldn't even leave a review but the way that girl acted towards the situation made my blood boil.

Reached out after they replied to my review and never heard back. What a joke. They want to save face by replying to the comment. But not the emails...

This was the first time I've ever come and ate at Smithfields!

On Sunday, June 4, 2023, my FAVORITE Aunt was in town and suggested Smithfields because she has always loved the fried chicken, pulled pork (with that delicious vinegar based BBQ sauce), baked bean, coleslaw, and hush puppies.

The young man who took our order went over and beyond to help us with ordering enough for 12 people! He was such a sweet and nice young man! I wish we could remember his name to give him props!

I'm in absolute awe with how delicious EVERYTHING was! It was a crowd favorite and all, but 1 loved what we ate (she's hard to please 🙄). I will be coming here on a regular basis! I'm in love with the pulled pork and baked beans 🫘 😋!

I've been a Smithfield's fan since the 90s while stationed at Camp LeJeune. This location has probably the best customer service out of most restaurants. It's extra clean inviting and customer service is excellent. Today, a young lad by the name of Cal is who I will give proper recognition. Thank you Cal. As for the food, we all know we love their food. Sadly, through the years the portions have drastically reduced. I don't think they use chickens anymore they look the size of pigeons and the Cole slaw and bake beans is less than half as they used to give you in the past. The banana pudding cups are half the size of what they used to be. What hasn't changed is the increased price. In 2025, you pay double for half the food. Nonetheless, it is still a good place to eat that cravings when it hits. The clientele due to these facts have drastically dropped. My last visit was 6 months ago. It's just too expensive for my budget. ...
