Sunny's Stir Fry — Restaurant in Fayetteville

I was the only patron in the establishment. I shared I was taking dinner to my grandparents an hour away. I asked a few questions about the crab Rangoon and for suggestions to ensure I had enough food.

I asked for extra sweet and sour.

The associate brought the food to my car but I didn’t want that. I like to check the food and things requested before leaving. They put all the food in ONE bag which made it unbalanced - so much that the gentleman warned to keep the bag upright to keep it from spilling - so I asked for a box. I went inside the establishment to see the chef (owner) gladly eating a warm plate of food, I assume of which was taken from the portion of the food he just made my grandparents. Again, I was the only patron.

When I got to my grandparents and discovered the fried rice containers were half full, I called the establishment to share in my disappointment. This led to a defensive and ugly owner justifying without listening. This place is known for their stir fried rice but the two containers weren’t even half full with the rice. The entrees were also lunch portion. Huh?

The entrees were pretty tasty all around! General Tso’s chicken was my tables favorite, followed by the green beans w/pork. The prices were reasonable, decent seating, service was great. If I had any suggestions, it would be some flavor adjustments to the appetizers. The dumplings could use more veggies and seasoning - you can tell they’re freshly folded dumplings, but they’re pretty one note dense pork, and the wonton soup could use more flavor and filling. The crab Rangoon was packed full and cooked well but also could use some additional sweetness and more green onion.

Overall I’m really pleased for more Chinese food options in the area and excited to come back to try more...

If you want great Chinese food this is literally the only option in Fayetteville. The hot and sour soup is incredible, the depth of umami and flavor is indescribable. It’s the best hot and sour soup ANYWHERE! I’m partial to the General Tso Chicken but there is not a dish on their menu that is subpar. The homemade dumplings are also fantastic! This place is absolutely amazing. The owner and his sons are super friendly and inviting. If I had to make one suggestion or something I would say that could be improved would be the decor. But it’s not dirty or anything like that, just isn’t really vibey. Love this place. Can’t say enough about the food and the service. BEST...
