Unfortunately I had a very bad experience here. I called to see if I could order a combo and replace the rice with a salad. I was put on hold to see if they could do it. Someone else came on the phone and said "we don't have salad, but we do have something else and we could do it for a small up charge." I said that was fine and they told me my order would be ready in a few minutes.
This is where everything went downhill. I pull up to the window and I'm told that this is just a one time deal and they wouldn't be able to do it again in the future. I said that I appreciated it and that I understood. My food is brought to me and I'm told that everything I was told was wrong and they charged me for a full salad and that my bill was $30. I told them I would rather not have the meal.
They take my card and disappear with the food. A guy comes back to the window and hands me back the bag. I said "oh" and take the bag. He tells me to pull up to the side because there is a long line and they would like to get it done before running my card for the refund.
At this point, I look at the ticket on the bag and nothing is changed so I think they are giving me the deal we originally agreed on. I wait about 15 mins for them to run my card and they finally come out and took off the salad price. When I get home, there are tiny portions of everything, no naan no rice and no salad. I paid $18 for about a cup and a half of food total. No one communicated what the final transaction would involve and led me to believe that I was getting the salad. This was an entirely frustrating experience when all I wanted was to substitute the rice. They could have said no and I would have moved on instead of hearing 3 stories from 3 different people and paying $18 for a minimal amount of food. I'll never return or recommend this place to anyone. R&R food truck will be...
Read moreWent there today to try the food and did not leave disappointed, though the food flavors were new and unexpected, the meal left my mom and I satisfied. We both got the Bengali shrimp malai Basmati plate and enjoyed the flavors of everything on it. The shrimp was cooked and seasoned well, the pepper was a little spicy for me and too spicy for my mom, but good nonetheless, the naan bread was really nice, the curry was delicious, the rice was perfection, not too hard, not too soft, it was soft and fluffy, cooked to perfection. We also got the samosa, I really enjoyed them, the texture did take me for a loop, but they were really enjoyable for me, the taste kind of reminds me of warm hummus, but it was still good.
For drinks I got the Mango Lassi and my mom got the Masala Iced Tea. The Mango Lassi was smooth and creamy with a crisp flavor that refreshes and relaxes you, it is topped with pistachios. The Masala Iced tea may be more of an acquired taste for those in the south with the absence of sugar, but the cinnamon and cardamom give it a subtle sweetness. The total price of this meal was $40.86.
The atmosphere was lovely, as soon as you walk in the door you are greeted to a small garden pot full of colorful flowers, the lights that hang over the tables are a real marvel, the resemble lanterns and really add to the experience.
The service is top notch, friendly and welcoming, I don't remember them checking on us like some restaurants do, but I think that added to the relaxing atmosphere.
I highly recommend the mango lassi to newcomers and returning...
Read moreFood is not worth the price and service was lacking. Hostess stared at me and my two friends and didn't greet us upon walking in, anyways my friend ordered a shrimp dish. When we got our food, my friend had potatoes and chicken in her dish, so I walk back up to the counter for her (no waiters in site) to alert a staff member my friend had received the wrong dish. The girl looked at me puzzled and said she would have to see, upon getting to our table my friend (haven taken one bite) points it out and the hostess goes to get a man who I'm assuming is the manager? He asks her what the problem is for the second time and does not take the dish back to correct it, instead shows us the ticket where the hostess charged her for chicken and said "Maybe she didn't understand you?" And did not offer to correct the dish but instead said "the shrimp will be a few minutes wait and we will have to charge you a few dollars more" we already all had our food and were hungry. It seemed like he thought she was trying to get away with ordering a new dish for free? Even though she had taken one bite and reiterated she wanted shrimp and not chicken and potatoes. This is a very niche issue but she was already having a really bad day and to be borderline questioned by a restaurant chef was a great cherry on top, traditional Indian service has never done me...
