Cashier is a bold-faced thief - be very careful when paying with cash! We take our relatives bowling whenever they visit from out-of-state and have been here many times with no incidents. This time, however, my mother-in-law and her daughter were paying with a card when the cashier (a middle-aged/older woman) told her that the swipe or chip reader was "broken". My MIL only had a $50 bill in her wallet (her daughter verified it was a $50 bill). The cashier said that was fine and she paid for her meal. The change was supposed to be $25 and the cashier told her that she just realized she was "out of exact change" and had to go to the back. She placed the $50 bill under the mat on the counter and asked my MIL to sit down and come back for her change and the food she ordered, so she did. When my MIL returned, the cashier gave her $5, stating that this was all she was due back. She refused to lift the mat on the counter to prove that the bill was a 50, and she refused to count her drawer. She stated that the manager wasn't there and called my MIL a liar.
Upon talking to the bowling alley manager I learned that supposedly the restaurant is a separate business. The front desk was NOT helpful and passed it off, saying that we'd have to call the next day and that they'd check the cameras. My MIL and her daughter called the next day and every day until it got "resolved" by the restaurant saying that they'd comp us a free bowling game for the inconvenience (huh, I thought the bowling alley business was separate and have "nothing to do with" the restaurant management), but I have little interest in returning to support a local business that enables their employees to steal from them. The cashier 100% pocketed that money and got away with it because she knew the camera wouldn't show anything suspicious from that angle.
If you're stuck paying for food at this low-quality bowling alley restaurant, pay with a card only. Don't get scammed...
Read moreOrdered from them twice while visiting the bowling alley. First, I ordered nachos. They were $5 which was normal but the portion I got was absolutely tiny, literally just a few bites' worth. My friend ordered the same thing and when it came out a few minutes after mine, it had over double the amount mine had. After complaining about how much I got, they told me it depends on who prepares it and did nothing to help. I gave them a second chance and ordered fried pickles, but then my order got lost and it took an entire 45 minutes to get them out while my friends were getting entire meals our before that. Overall, pretty bad experience with them although they were very apologetic after the fried pickles. I just wish I had a...
Read moreStopped in here with my wife before bowling with her coworkers on Halloween, the only other person in the cafe was one man at the counter. Upon entering, the man told us we could sit wherever but advised us not to sit in the bigger section because it smelled of sewer and he was correct - so we sat along the front windows.
Because we sat out of view, the person taking orders didn't see us until we got up to just try ordering at the counter and she immediately came over to us, she was very friendly and apologized for not seeing us which was honestly not a problem. Our drinks and food took almost no time at all to get to us and were absolutely...
