Let me start by saying that I love the Waffle House, my family and I visit a Waffle House at-least once a week. On 9/23/2017 at about 10:45am we, (my 60 year old mother, my 11 year old daughter, a 11 year old friend of hers and myself) arrived at the Waffle House at 4141 Ramsey St, Fayetteville NC, the store was busy but because of my love for the Waffle House we decided to wait. We were seated after about a 30 minute wait. The waitress proceeded to take our orders, all of us ordered a variation on the All Star Breakfast. The bacon came out first, with various degrees of doneness, mine was almost raw I asked the waitress to please get me some bacon that was cooked a little better. After a few minutes she returned with the perfect bacon. I was the last person to receive their food. I had ordered my hash-browns as a double order scattered, smothered and chunked with extra cheese cooked light, I was handed a plate with single order of plain hash-browns, crispy. I once again asked the waitress politely to please fix my order, she says no problem. Ten minutes go by I still have not received my food, by now my family is finishing up with their plates getting ready for the waffle. The waitress comes by and tells me it will be a few more minutes to which I reply "Awesome". I also ask if I may speak to a manger, she tell me she will let her manger know that I would like to speak to her. I watch the waitress walk up to the manager and tell her that I need to talk to her. 10 minutes later my food comes out after being took back about 15-20 minutes prior, on my plate is a signal order of burnt hash-brown which I would not of feed to my dog, the egg was cold where they waited 15-20 minutes to bring my plate back and my perfect bacon was replaced with half raw bacon. Once again, in a calm tone I ask the waitress to please send her manager over, the waitress again walks over to the manger, points to me and tells her I would like to see her. The manger looks at me and I clearly see her roll her eyes at me. Now, I work fot the City government here in NC I have to deal with customs all day long and I am pretty sure that is not how you should react. I wait about 7-10 more minutes on the manger to come and speak to me,by this time my family is finishing up their food and I have yet to take the first bite of mine. I get up and take my plate and head over to the bar where the manger is standing. As I ask her if she is the manager ( Dorothy ) she puts her hand out in front of her body and tells me to stop that she is busy and will deal with me in a few minutes. Well I have already been in the restaurant well over 1 hour, I ask her if we may please speak I have to be somewhere soon. Then she proceeds to yell at me in front of a whole store full of people, telling me that I was rude and impatient( I have been in the store for over 1 hr at this point) and that she was not even gonna speak to me. I tired to speak to her again and she looks at me waves her hand at me and says "Bye-Bye now" in a loud and hateful voice. To avoid any further confrontation I stepped outside to calm myself, then one of the cooks and my waitress came to me and apologized for the way their manger spoke to me. I walked inside asked for my bill, then I had to ask the waitress to remove my order because I never took the first bite out of anything, I told her I would pay for the coffee. I was completely embarrassed by the way this "Manger" spoke to me in a restaurant full of families trying to enjoy their meals. I read a article in which your CEO was quoted saying "Weāre in the people business. We really pour into our peopleā I believe that the way I was treated today is not the Waffle House...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHonestly. Our waitress was pretty nice overall. The cook however was extremely rude and racist. Before ordering, while waiting for our food and even eating she persisted and continued to make extremely offensive, unprovoked racist and rude comments. She even quiped rude statement like what the hell are we doing here, are they even going to eat this "These damn white people". All because I asked if I would be getting my 4 over easy eggs instead of the 2 that were brought to our table. Sadly this cook didn't realize that we love going above and beyond tipping the entire staff and making people say when we go out. We understand times are hard for everyone with the current Bidenomics and love to try and ease that even if only for a day. Unfortunately this cook made ignorant, incessant rude comments consistently the ENTIRE time we were present. It never stopped and not only discouraged us from returning but reunited our appetite. It's sad because she was rude from the first moment or interaction where we said hello Good morning with a smile and my girlfriend proceeded to comment her stating you're so beautiful and I wanted you to know you have natural beauty. She proceed to shake her head, roll her eyes and mumble insults under her breath. As stated this kind of rude disgusting behavior persisted the entire time. We never replied, provoked or encouraged the behavior and it's extremely sad. We're very understanding and can understand having a bad day. However this wasn't just a bad day. This cook was beyond rude. Beyond disrespectful and clearly hated her job. I hope that she quits/loses her job and finds somewhere else she is appreciated and appreciates more. If she acts this way day to day interacting with customers she has no business in any customer facing/serving capacity. This waffle house will surely lose business if they continue to employ such a rude, racist distasteful woman. At a minimum they have certainly lost our business. As we plan to NEVER return. Once again we're very nice, respectful people. The type to clean their table, wipe it down, stack plates...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEverytime I'm in the south on vacation I make it my business to eat at the waffle house. I love the food and the price great. I walked in and the whole restaurant was dirty. Not one clean table. That's understandable being I know they get really busy and sometimes don't have time to clean it right away. Either way it wasn't that busy at the moment. I had to ask the young lady to clean a table so we can sit. She asked us to give her a second and she would take our orders. That second turned into about a half an hour. She helped two customers who walked in and ordered to go. She walked back and forth doing other stuff as well. In the mean time a gentleman sitting at the counter started complaining about the restaurant being dirty and the service as well. Another customer a young lady decided to tell him he should leave if he didn't like it and they started arguing. They were yelling and cursing at each other to the point I thought things were going to get pretty ugly. My sons got scared. I asked the guy to please stop yelling and tried to defuse the situation. Then a gentleman(employee) came out the back and he tried to defuse the situation. Finally they stopped and again we are just sitting. The gentleman who had came from the back noticed us and told the girl take our orders. He came and gave us utensils. Our drinks came and my son juice taste like seltzer. I told her it probably needed to be changed in the back. We had to wait because the girl cooking had to change it. We finally got our food and my son still needed his juice. They changed it, made a cup but walked right passed us and gave it to someone else. I had to say excuse me to get there attention and ask for my sons juice. Overall my food was good. Our waitress seemed very distracted mentally and all over the place. The cook and gentleman verbally redirected her several times on things she needed to be doing. Very nice but everything took way to long for no reason at all. I try to be very patient and understanding but this almost pushed my buttons. I wouldn't see myself going back to...
