The food, atmosphere, and the every single person who works at Angelica's is top knotch! The food is always cooked to perfection and they treat everyone who walks in like family.
They go above and beyond with the service and they have an amazing happy hour if you're looking for someplace to unwind. The apps are delicious and even though the bar area is half seated all day long the atmosphere is still quiet and relaxing. (They do like to cut loose later in the evening on the weekends, and have some fun holiday events, but Angelica's is super family friendly during regular hours and they even have some "north of the border" kids menu options for those picky eaters. (I don't have to worry about my son's peanut allergy here either which is so so hard to find when you want authentic Mexican. My kiddo was so happy to finally get to eat chips and their amazing salsa!)
Speaking of which, just the other day when I ordered some chips and salsa for takeout their card reader went down and instead of making us to track down an ATM while the fresh chips got cold they told us to just go enjoy the food and stop back in within a couple of days if our payment didn't go through on our banking app (which it did later that evening!) But they were willing to just let us come back later to settle the bill, they seriously treat everyone like family š«¶ Their prices are the best too. About the same if not less than some other Mexican restaurants I've tried but the food is cooked to absolute perfection and the portions are huge! (It reheats well too š) The sauteed veggies are always sizzling with the best cuts of meat, super fresh ingredients. (Their chicken fajitas are still my favorite even though I'm working through the menu slowly , haha.)
In my opinion Angelica's is the best restaurant in town, not just the best Mexican food. But for any family dinner, quick lunch, or for a go to place to take my tattoo clients to dinner after a long tattoo session, Angelica's is the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was really looking forward to eating here after hearing a friend hype this restaurant up but after few different things, I've decided that this wasn't a good fit for me.
Ordered a salad with tomatoes on the side (I can't have them, but my dining partner could) with ranch dressing. Got the salad with tomatoes chopped up in it and with Caesar dressing. Asked them to redo the salad as I cannot have tomatoes and asked for ranch again. They brought the salad back with Caesar dressing. Had to ask them a third time if I could have the ranch dressing I had asked for.
While we were eating, they had started cleaning the table behind us and their cleaning spray was EXTREMELY intense, overpowering, and lingered as we tried to finish our dinner.
We finally had to leave before finishing our food because the music came on. It was so loud that my dining partner and I could not carry a conversation across the table, despite practically yelling.
Overall, the food was 'eh' once we got it how it was ordered. The salad portion received for the price seemed steep in my opinion. We were there around 7:30 PM. I don't think that the workers really took into consideration that people were trying to eat dinner and converse. Definitely would recommend holding off on cleaning tables next to people eating or tone down your cleaning supplies so it's not overpowering those...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHmmmm. It's 7pm and the dining room is empty. Each time I've noted this at a restaurant, I always get what I have coming: A highly dismal experience.
Strike 1- Salsa here is terrible. No heat and not much flavor. Chips were good- served warm and not a bunch of chip crumbs. Still, it was necessary to toss in a bunch of tapatio sauce to liven up the salsa, which was still lackluster in spite of that. Tip to chef: More chopped tomatoes, cilantro, vinegar and lemon juice. Seriously.
Strike 2- Slowest service. EVER. How is it that an empty dining room with two patrons, takes almost a half hour to serve? In fact, another couple walked in about 15 minutes after we were seated and their sizzling fajitas were delivered before our meal. Something's really off here.
My enchiladas were served with a bland cup of frijoles and, am I seeing straight? White rice?! (Strike 3) Despite my disappointment at being served the awful Uncle Ben's concoction, the server made no effort to offer Mexican rice. Another strike? Oh yes.
It's no wonder this place must resort to coupons to fill their painfully empty dining room. From now on, I'll be sure to check online reviews before trying out new digs. This place was awful and we won't be going back. A bad value, even with a coupon. I'll bet you $50 bucks this place doesn't last long. The only good thing here is the...
