I have been to Hive Cafe 5 times to date and have experience a range of emotions with them. From complete satisfaction and mostly satisfying, to frustration and disappointment.
This is a fairly new business, and so take what i say with that in mind. The first two time I went to Hive Cafe it was a great experience. The customer service was prompt and attentive, the atmosphere was light and enjoyable, and food was ON POINT! So delicious!
However, the last three experiences felt completely upside down from what I’ve gotten used to. Lately, sometimes the restaurant seems understaffed and overstaffed at the same time.
It’s hard to justify having two or three servers standing around while my party is waiting for drinks or even an acknowledgement. The food, while still tasty enough, but there are still several issues there. Plates are brought out one at a time for a single meal and it took over an hour between sitting down and receiving food. Once, I left because it had been 1 hour and 10 minutes. The owner stood right next to the waitress when I told her and he said nothing. No acknowledgement. I felt like my time and money meant nothing to Hive Cafe.
I don’t plan on returning because of the negative trend in my and my family’s experiences. I hope this place can turn it around

Read moreI recently dined at the Hive cafe and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. The food delivery was quite disappointing, as our orders came out in pieces, with a 20-minute gap between each dish. Moreover, our order was incorrect not once, but three times, and even when the correct items did arrive, they were cooked improperly.
The chicken dish I ordered turned out to be overly salty, making it nearly inedible. The grits, which were part of another dish, were surprisingly hard, indicating a lack of proper preparation. To add to our frustration, the drinks we ordered were only half-made, further diminishing the overall dining experience.
What was even more disheartening was the lack of responsiveness from the manager. Despite these numerous issues, the manager's efforts to address the situation were minimal. To make matters worse, the compensation offered—a mere $10 discount on a $68 order—seemed inadequate considering the magnitude of the problems we encountered.
It's truly disappointing when a dining experience falls so short of expectations, especially when the issues are so numerous and impactful. While I appreciate the ambiance and potential of the Hive cafe, I hope that they can take these concerns seriously and make significant improvements to their service, food quality, and customer satisfaction in the future.

MENU: My waitress Shay came with the recommendations. They have variety!! General breakfast and brunch selections so it was hard to choose. One thing I will say is READ WELL because you may not have to order what you want "a la carte". They have a "build a breakfast" which actually MAKES SENSE and it's not stuff on there that you would never pair. It also doesn't have random upcharges, a BIG PLUS.
SPEED: My food was out FAST and HOT. I ordered salmon croquettes, buttery white rice, scrambled medium eggs, and french toast and coffee. All for $27. It was worth every penny. 🔥 The French toast was so good, I know they used brioche bread and a little heavy cream in the batter, PERIOD. The fresh strawberries and powdered sugar were a nice touch. But the real highlight- THE CROQUETTES! I grew up eating them and they tasted like my mama's...they added red pepper which was a great idea gave it a little sweet kick. No filler, ALL SALMON. No old oil, I'm sure they change it multiple times a day, ON ME.
SERVICE: TOP TIER. Shay did not leave garbage on the table kept my water fresh and coffee full!
Overall, I would only change menu layout to be a little easier to navigate, but Shay made it easy cause she KNEW HER MENU!
