I'm giving them three stars because the Kettle Corn was very good. I'm from out of town and when my neighbor told me about the place and that she knew the owner, I became very excited because I loooove gourmet popcorn. The woman working the counter did greet us when we walked in, but it went downhill from there. She seemed really put out that we dared to ask for samples from the wall of different flavors they had. She told us matter-of-factly that we could only sample 2 flavors, so they're expecting you to just purchase their popcorn and hope for the best. I felt bad daring to ask for four flavors and just settled on my go-to flavors of Kettle Corn and White Cheddar. Given the eye rolling and silent sighs from her, I just wanted to leave and not buy anything, but I really wanted some. My neighbor was on the other end of the counter and apologized to the woman and said we weren't trying to be a bother, and she said "I couldn't tell." There were no other people in the shop, so it wasn't like she was under any stress. I was thinking I was going to spend somewhere between $30-$50 and just bought three small bags and left. Again, the Kettle Corn was very good and on point, but what I found with the samples of the salty flavors was that the popcorn tasted somewhat soft and moist and not crisp and crunchy like other brands I regularly purchase at home; also the flavor of the few I tried weren't strong.
Again, I love supporting small businesses, so I hope they make changes and do more to make people feel welcomed in their shop and let them sample. We were two mature women, not some rowdy teenagers trying to take advantage and were in no way rude in our demeanor towards her that would elicit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUpdate: put my review down to 2 stars because it was stale today, literally the day after I got it and super salty
The popcorn was soft from the outside of the bag. So, I've been wanting to try this place out for a while, very much down to support. My sister and cousin went in for the milkshakes and that's ultimately what brings my rating up to three stars. They absolutely loved their milkshakes. I, however, had gotten the popcorn. My choice of popcorn when trying any new place is to try the white cheddar popcorn because if the white cheddar popcorn is just right, you can't go wrong with other flavors.
Unfortunately, the moment I got my bag, I could tell that the popcorn was soft and not from the cheese but I still had some hope. The top of the popcorn is where the white cheddar was heavy and good, but the further down I went in the bag, the more butter that began to soak the popcorn. The popcorn is pre-made and i believe this is a downfall because the popcorn is pre-buttered. My white cheddar popcorn didn't provide that gourmet taste I was looking for and the butter heavily coated the taste of the white cheddar and made the popcorn really soft that you get that heavy butter taste when you bite into.
I would advise to not pre-butter the popcorn that has extra flavors as those flavors will get lost, especially if the popcorn is just sitting there with heavy butter plus the extra flavors. I'm going to give it a second chance because the milkshakes were great but definitely disappointed in the taste of this white...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI get an assignment to take photos for this place. And I got to try most of the items were featured. Walking in, itās a neat clean place and on the walk there were dozens of containers that had several flavors I apologize advance for the photos, snap shot them from my phone. So we started with the Cheetos flavored popcorn. It was really good, fresh and crunchy and full of flavor. Second was the Carmel and green apple which was a very balanced one between the sweetness of the Carmel and the sourness of the green apple. Wasnāt my favorite but it was good. After that got the berry captain crunch. It actually included some of the cereal with the popcorn and it had several flavors in it too.
The next one was my favorite of them all. The banana budding popcorn. It was just amazing, the banana flavor was so fresh and with the vanilla wafers and their crunch. They would both crest the illusion of having an actual banana pudding. Couple of other items were the crazy bowls. One of the was banana strawberry base and topped with chocolate and chocolate drizzle on top which wasnāt bad. But the other one had a cheese Cheetos base. With chocolate and pretzels and chocolate drizzle, I liked this more because of the contrast of the sweetness of the chocolate and the savory of the popcorn. Didnāt expect to see all these flavors on this place, but I was wrong. Itās not pricey and is a good experience specially if you have...
