This restaurant has been a default family gathering spot for years. We love and respect the ownership family and all they've poured into the greater Lima area for decades. This recent dining experience fell short quite a bit unfortunately and I hope they take it to heart.
Our group of 6 arrived on a Sunday around 5 pm with 2 small children. The restaurant wasn't terribly busy. Started off with a couple drinks and appetizers. Everything came out quickly and hot. Then we ordered our dinner entrees.....
44 minutes later we got our food. Waitress never gave us an update on food or kitchen being behind.
Everyone took one bite and everyone's meals were cold. All six. Except the kids chicken fingers were HOT and fresh. I'm guessing they had messed up the chicken fingers a couple times and had to re-fry? Or someone forgot to drop the tenders in the fryer for 20 minutes? Very odd.... We really just wanted to get out at a reasonable time. Manager came by and asked how things were. We filled him in. He apologized and walked away.
Waitress came over and asked how everything came out. We filled her in. She said she'd get manager.
He came back to the table and offered a free ice cream or dessert. We just wanted to get out of there. We just said no thanks... He apologized and walked away... Strange way to handle a disappointed customer. We didn't ask anything specific.
When the bill came, we find they did take 49 dollars off the bill. Which was a nice gesture. Still we will think twice about returning with just the bizarre interaction with acting manager and lack of follow through from our waitress on what may have happened with why our food was ice cold. Was it the kitchen? Was she training? If she admits something, the tip would have gone up.. we're all human. In any case we still tipped on the original amount...
Read moreIf you have an out-of-state ID and are wanting a drink, don't bother coming here. Two friends of mine and I came here for a drink and a late dinner after a long day of work. We all have different state IDs due to attending the University and residing elsewhere. After we were served one drink, an employee claimed to know one of us and said that we were underage. The staff immediately believed her and stopped serving us alcohol. When asking for another drink, the bartender respectfully told us that she could not serve us because of this reason. I kindly told her to scan them as they were all valid IDs. Their system must not have been working as it said every single one of us had invalid IDs. The manager rudely accused me of having a fake ID, of which I pulled out my previous and expired ID to show her to compare. She ended up telling us that she was keeping them and refused to give them back, even with one of us driving back to her state tomorrow. I told her multiple times that I would call an officer to come down and run them to prove that they are valid so that we could simply take them home. She said she had to call HR, in which she told them "they are throwing a hissy fit" which is extremely unprofessional and rude, especially when she was so in the wrong. She ended up running the cards on a separate screen and they came up as valid. She allowed us to take them only after I had told her I was once again calling the police if she did not return them and then waited for us to apologize to her. I understand wanting to cover all bases, but she handled it extremely poorly and lost 3...
Read moreI order the same drink, the same way, every where I go. A titos and water, in a short glass with a lime. I ALWAYS say SHORT glass because I've been give tall glasess before when not specifying. I was in the restroom when Mariya dropped the drinks off. It was in a pint glass. My boyfriend told her it was wrong and he said she just stared at him after a quick back and forth. I arrived and confirmed that I in fact said a short glass. And insisted I said "small" which is why she confused it with "tall". Whatever, she brings me a new drink but this time it was in a Collins glass. At this point I'm over it and I ask for a high noon. When she asked what was wrong, I said you don't have a rocks glass? She said "yes, I can put it in a rocks glass, it's the same volume.... they in fact she not the same volume!!! Anyways, I tell her it's fine, I'll just take the high noons. She pick up the collins glass, makes a dumbfounded faces then rolls her eyes. Then our pizza comes out with cilantro on it when my boyfriend specifically asked for there not to be. As someone who has worked in this industry 10 years serving and bartending, I could NEVER imagine treating a...
