First off, like I've reviewed before, Ale Emporium has the absolute best wings and best "real" pizza in the Indy area! No joke. I'm leaving a negative review of the Fishers location based on recent experience and with the hopes that the owner or management takes notice and is able to get back on track. After years of dependably serving up the best, our most recent experiences at the Fishers location have been disappointing. The seasoning, or level of heat on the Hermanaki wings is sometimes mild, sometimes hot, but that's a small issue. Two months ago, our Hermanaki wings came out dripping with some kind of sauce on them. The waitress didn't notice, but was kind enough to take them back to the kitchen when we requested, thinking they mixed up our order with another. She came back with the same wings, reporting that the manager said our wings were in fact "Hermanaki", they just had more glaze than usual. Sorry, but Hermanaki wings don't ever come out wet. The attached picture shows what they should look like, a little moist, but not smothered in glaze. A few days ago we ordered again from the Fishers location, and our Hermanki wings tasted like they had been fried in old, rancid oil. Way off the mark of the norm (we get them from the Castleton location more often, and the wings are very consistent there). Lastly, the volume of the live entertainment at night makes it impossible to converse with anyone you're sharing a meal or drinks with. It's just way, way too loud. Aside from this recent, localized experience, I still recommend the pizza and wings to anyone who wants the best in the Indy area. The Castleton location might have better consistency at present.

Ale Emporium continues to be a favorite and the ONLY place I will eat wings at. We started our experience by ordering Guinness's and I'm pleased to say that the bartender poured them correctly, giving them the proper resting time a Guinness needs before being served. We ordered the appetizer of pretzel crusted fried pickles that I have ordered before. The mustard dipping sauce that came with it was FIRE but the pickles were just OK. Probably wouldn't order them again. The wings, per usual, were phenomenal. It is $30 for a large portion and $20 for a regular. A large portion has about 24-30 wings and the regular has about 12-18. For two guys and myself, a large portion would have been enough with beer and our appetizer. You do pay extra for the rub (Hermanyaki is our favorite) but that is clearly listed on the menu and it's only like $2 and well worth the flavor add in my opinion. We went on a rainy Monday so it wasn't that busy but I know that it can be. Our service was good. My mom got the chicken pesto panini and ate over half of it which is a good sign from her. I had a few bites and while the bread was dry, the panini itself was pretty good, especially if dipped in ranch. If I am ever in the area or passing by, I come here and get their wings, they are JUST that good and can't be beat. 10/10 recommend.

Straight 4’s. Appetizers chicken wings x large portion with bbq sauce slathered goopy a bit much and $30 expensive. Ranch dressing really sweet. Nachos appetizer more reasonably priced with nore cheese than almost chips. Breadsticks (3 in order) pepperoni stuffed fairly huge. Oddly side salad better than average. Stromboli was meh seemed a mish mash of multiple flavors that competed with each other (2 people tried it unimpressed). Another had mire chicken wings boneless hmmm no real strong support as exceptional. Another had house salad. Panini was enjoyed so met expectations. Shrimp burger 4/5 wouldn’t buy again. Service pretty good but typical barely kegal kid host and hostesses with very little fervor fir their jobs. but not rude. But certainly not exuberantly welcoming for sure. All in all a neighborhood joint with consistent food but not super great all around and a gazillion TV’s. Bar has a wraparound counter seating so if you’re a loner or just want to gaze at screens probably got a chance. We arrived at 1:30pm on a busy Saturday football game day and ny 2:30 the place was less rhan half full else prime time or near a game be prepared to wait with zero lobby seating.

Don't think the wife and I will go back to this location or Ale Emporium.

Came on a Sunday to watch games, get some food, drinks and pizza. Surprisingly not very busy as the parking lot was packed but people must have been shopping elsewhere which was a pleasant surprise.

During the time we were there my wife and I had 4 beers, 2 pizzas ( one thin crust 10 inch pepperoni and sausage and a the 16" inch supreme pizza) and a buffalo chicken wrap. Asked for no blue cheese crumbles on the wrap but ranch and then blue cheese crumbles on the side.

Our server was super nice but we didn't see her much and the kitchen screwed the order up so bad that we needed her and I had to go to the bar once and then asked a bus boy to please grab her.

The buffalo chicken wrap came out with ranch on it and no blue cheese crumbles (also cold). Which whatever - not a huge deal but we could not find our server for like 10 minutes so by the time she came back my wife (who wanted the blue cheese crumbles) was super hungry and already ate her half of the wrap (which was also very sad) as it had a TON of buffalo sauce and lacked chicken and the toppings. Edible but not good considering this is the wrap we usually get and know what it should taste like.

Then the pizza - Oh boy - So the first pizza came out (16" hand tossed supreme) and the dough was solid white - under cooked and doughy - Sadly not edible and had to send it back. Again the server was no where to be found so we had to go ask the bus boy to find her but it took him another 5 minutes. Keep in mind both of our beers at this point had been empty for a good 8-10 minutes and when I asked the person who brought our food if we could order two more they said "you have to put them in with your server" (which I get but you work there and I haven't seen her in 10 mins so maybe help a brother / customer out) - people don't "common sense" much anymore these days.

Second pizza comes out - 10" thin crust sausage and pepperoni" - best part of the experience. Finally something goes off without a hitch. Tried to tell them unfortunately the first pizza is inedible - Said they would let our server know - did not take the pizza back or get manager.

Finally server comes back and we order 2 more beers and mention the pizza - Keep in mind it took almost 40 minutes to get the food in the first place. Also - side note - They clearly made the wrap and then let it sit there as it was also pretty cold and waited for the pizza.

Then another 25 - 30 mins goes buy (big pizza and lots of toppings so I understand) and the kitchen manager brings it out and apologizes says - that never should have been served - I looked at it and they should have left it in the over as the dough in middle was not cooked. The saddest part is this pizza was STILL undercooked but we had been there for almost an hour and 45 minutes at this point. I thought to myself - Whatever - I will take it home and heat it and cook it through the rest of the way. I am writing this review now because even as I tried to heat the pizza up and cook it through for lunch I could not and it is pretty much inedible.

The annoying part is they acknowledge the mistake - do it again - charge us full price and the experience was just poor all around. The Ale on Allisonville seems to have it together. Fishers location and leadership / staff is lacking...

I hate to even waste my time writing this review but I want to warn other people and hopefully motivate the day bartenders to stop being so lazy. Last time I came in and sat at the bar at about 3pm. The female bartender was talking to one of the other few bar guests, she noticed me, didn’t say hi or acknowledge my presence then just kept talking to the same guy. A few minutes go by and I’m starting to get annoyed.. a male bartender comes from the kitchen, sees me also and doesn’t say anything or ask if I wanted a drink, menu, nothing. Then 3 dudes walk in and the male bartender immediately recognizes them starts slapping hands, giving high fives and taking drink orders immediately like they’re old buddies. I was sitting right next to them. Neither bartender ever acknowledged me so I left. I’ve had other good experiences sitting at tables with servers so I wasn’t going to blast them for this one bad experience which is why I still left 3 stars. That is until yesterday (Tuesday) … It had been a few weeks since the last time, I came in by myself again and sat at the bar, the time was 3:40pm, the male bartender saw me, looked visibly annoyed and again didn’t say hi or offer a drink or a menu. He made a lap then came back again and asked what I was drinking. I asked if I could go ahead and order lunch also since I knew what I was having without needing a menu and thought it would make his life easier. He took my order with the most amount of disdain, and started walking away before I was finished. It was a very basic order I feel like, stuffed breadsticks and snack boneless wings. About 20 minutes later a server brings the breadsticks from the kitchen, I asked him if he could check on the wings also and he said “oh they’re ready too just sitting in the window, would you like them now also?” Seriously? Why would you even ask that if they’re part of the same order? If I was having a salad and steak sure I get coursing the food but what?! So he brought out the wings, they’re lukewarm and taste like they’ve been waiting in the kitchen for 10 minutes, at this point I’m not even going to try to tell the bartender because he doesn’t care anyways. He did bring the check 2 minutes later without me asking for it, I thought for a moment that it was actually good service until I heard him tell the one of three other people at the bar that his shift ended at four, now I get it… Anyways, sorry for coming at the end of your shift but no need to punish me. Your day bar staff...

Ale used to be my absolute favorite place to get carry out from. We used to order probably 2-3 times a month, but not anymore. I was very impressed that they created the new carry out area to the East of the main entrance to the restaurant. In general it does make for a better ordering and pick-up experience. However The last probably... 5-6 months, the carry out service has not been good. Consistently, almost every time I order I'm missing items. It is VERY rare that I get any extra dipping sauce that I order AND pay for. This past weekend we ordered and we were missing the chips to the buffalo chicken dip, my husband was missing the coleslaw side to his entree, and my friend ordered a Herm Chicken Salad... we got the chicken in a container... but no salad? EEK. So frustrating. This type of thing happens about 80% of the time that we order. It seems like they have a very young staff that does not pay attention to orders as they are bagging them. They don't seem to double check at all to make sure that the correct items are in the order that the customer paid for.

So, as much as we want to love Ale like we used to, we have pretty much given up on ordering carry out from them because we never get what we pay for. We stopped ordering for a few months because we were so frustrated by it... but decided to give it another shot this past weekend, and yet again... they were disappointing and left so many items out. I did call and speak to a manager. She was very nice and I kindly told her what the issue was. She did put a credit on our account, which I thanked her for. Just overall it's frustrating to consistently not get things in our order.

The dine-in experience is decent, so that's likely the only way we will be eating Ale from now on. Which is a shame, because we have a toddler at home, so carry-out is...
