This place is well located off the Nickel Plate Trail and is readily accessible from the public library a couple blocks away, making it a great place to get a pastry or a refreshing beverage while studying or reading a good book. Personally though, I can’t say I’m a huge fan of their cold brew, despite it being what they are known for. I think it’s mainly because of the syrups they use in them, since they tend to be a bit too thick and strongly flavored to pair well with their smooth (and equally strong) coffee. That being said, their frappes are fantastic, especially the cookie crunch one they came out with recently. The flavor of it tasted like a cross between cookies and cream and tiramisu, albeit with the pleasant buzz of caffeine. Was it healthy? Absolutely not. Was it delicious? Yes it was. Also, I would recommend their blackberry mango smoothie. It has a very tropical and well balanced sweetness, while being perfectly creamy, making it perfect for hot summer. As for food, I’d get the cheese danish. It’s buttery and sweet, with the cheesy filling having a sugary lemon flavor to it. Definitely worth...
Read moreI've been to Java House a few times since the grand opening. The baked goods are very good and there are quite a few creative drinks on the menu. The atmosphere is great and fits the downtown Fishers vibe quite well. The location is just off the Nickel Plate trail and makes it an easy stop when hanging out downtown.
However, as a consumer of espresso-based drinks, I prefer other coffee shops. The draw of small/local coffee shops over Starbucks/Dunkin is that things should be done correctly and at a higher quality. Unfortunately, when it comes to steaming milk, the "baristas" drop the steam wand and walk away to care to other duties. This generally leads to scorched milk without foam... not to mention the piercing sound of the milk screaming for help. Ultimately, this just leads to an expensive drink that is unpleasant to consume. I could chalk this up to handling a rush of customers, but I was one of two over the 30 minutes I was in the store.
Despite the great location and one of the better coffee shop atmospheres in Fishers, I'd probably turn to a competitor until the espresso drink...
Read moreBeen going to Java a couple of weeks now, as I work in the area. Java has a very nice and smooth cup of coffee, no burnt taste just good coffee. Staff are great as well. Think I see ether the owner or manager there a lot in the morning. I'm always greeted with a smile. I normally get a Mocha Latte and its done just so well, no consistency issues I have had so far. Always tastes the same. Even when there are some newer baristas getting trained. That's great quality management for sure.
Only issue I can say was last time I was charged around $7.25 ish for a medium when normally it was around $5.60 ish. Going off the top of my head. $5.60 is good for a medium so I really hope they didn't increase their price. Last Time a large was that price for 7.
Atmosphere Is great its always clean and they even have a little sidewalk window where you can get orders from. I haven't tried their food yet so Im unsure if they make it their or partner with local shops, But it always looks great and tempting.
Overall defiantly give them a stop if your in the area. Great Coffee,...
