This is an update to my post below. After writing this post I visited a local Walmart and discovered they also have placed "selfi" screens at their self checkout registers (although the screens are smaller). Thus, I've modified my "star" vote to two stars since that seems to be the trend in the area. I guess that doesn't say much for our area. A sad statement. However, I will continue to look for local businesses that treat their customers like trusted clients instead of criminals. If they start putting armed guards at the registers and doors I'm going to have to start doing all shopping on line!
Prior to the last two months I would have given the Fishers, IN Target 5 stars. My neighbors have often made fun of my almost daily trips to this store. (I live 1 mile away). It was often a relaxing experience where I could enjoy a cup of coffee while walking through the store.
The last couple months I've noticed a lot of trash in the parking lot and near the entries. If you are going to place trash receptacles at the entries you need to empty them several times a day. I initially attributed the unsightly trash to disarray caused by ongoing internal remodeling. As a part of this remodeling they were re-working the self check lines. This was inconvenient because they do not have employee serviced express lanes. Well, the new self check lines are done. The same original six self check out areas are squeezed into a walled off area much smaller than the original area. Clearly they only want you to use these if you have three small items fitting in a single bag. Most disturbingly, I've discovered their current clientele must be a gang of thieves. (how scary since I often go after dark) Each self check out register has a camera that displays your head on a 12" x 12" screen with an adjacent sign that says you are being monitored. I must have moved to the "hood" in Chicago!
Although I have not visited the the neighborhood Kroger as often as Target, the lady that monitors and helps people in their self-check lanes knows me and says Good Morning. She tracked me down when I forgot to pick up the bag of Ice I paid for. Better yet, they will be opening a new Kroger just as close to my house with clothing and a Starbucks!
Sorry Target. I've been a loyal customer and I"ve had many relaxing walks in your store. But it feels like a SAMS or Cosco now. Oh wait, do they display their customers heads on large screens for all to see as they pass through check out. Never mind. I...
Read moreI always order my groceries the night before on Target, however, last night 10/26/22 they didn't have my usual order in stock, so I decided to try Walmart in Fishers. Ordered my groceries, selected a pick-up time between 6PM - 7PM for the next day (10/27/22), and pick them up after work. The next day (10/27/22) I went all day not knowing the status of my order. Finally 6 PM rolls around, no confirmation for my order. 7PM arrives, I call to check the status. Walmart associate told me it would be done in 30 minutes. 5 minutes after I get off the phone with the associate, I got a notification that my order was ready, and only 5 of the 29 items I ordered was ready and in stock.
In my experience, it felt like, I ordered something, not hear anything about it all day, then find out, nothing was in stock I needed, AND, felt like what was the point of even picking a time slot when no one was working on the order anyways? Needless to say, I cancelled my entire order at Walmart.
I realized, I should have done it right the first time, I jumped onto Target's app, ordered my items, this time they had everything I needed in stock (only 1 was out of stock, which is 100% okay). 30 min later, I get a notification that my order was ready for pick up. Not only did my local Target store get 99% of my items, they completed my order in 30 minutes compared to Walmarts 24 hours. When I parked, I notified I had arrived and 2 minutes later an associate came out with my things, loads my groceries, and I was home, put my groceries away in 45 minutes total. Consider my mind blown. Fantastic!
I know it would be unrealistic to expect this every time, but I was just blown away that I only interacted with 1 human the entire time, and still had an amazing experience.
My lease at the apartments down the street ends in June, and honestly, the only reason I'm even considering renewing my lease is...
Read moreYesterday, I had a pickup order. Like any customer, I clicked the “heading your way” button and went on my way. Once I arrived I waited in the parking spot for my order for 40 mins. During the time my order had been handed to someone else, without my knowledge. Finally, getting upset enough, I switched to in person pick up. When I approached the customer service counter and informed the man there of my issue, he seemed so unaware of how to handle the issue. He kept telling me that my order was t in the system. I finally asked him to go and check the back. He report back that it was gone. He then continued to just express it must be a mistake in the app. So I finally asked for a manager. Super icky of me, but I was over not being given a direct response. Finally a manager came to see me, Claire, she was helpful, insightful and well informed of how to fix my problem. The item I wanted (which I bought two of) was then Sold out at their store. So I could not repurchase. For all of my trouble she helped refund me and gift me some gift cards for all my trouble. She was Ana amazing light to a dull moment. Overall though, the boys who are manning the service desk need to be trained properly on how to handle issues like this without the assistance of their manager. But prompt Claire more, pay her more, etc. She’s actually able to handle her job. The boys doing pick up...
