From 1 Year Ago: Verde's atmosphere was a unique twist on Mexican culture. The walls were adorned by many "custom" looking pieces of art and the bar was beautifully decorated with plants (fake unfortunately)
It appeared during a busy Friday afternoon that there were two waiters for the whole restaurant and unfortunately they just could not keep up. I understand being short-staffed, but it would have been better to wait an extra while longer and make less tables available than run the staff ragged trying to keep up. I appreciated her dedication and attempt at keeping everyone's water topped, drinks readily available.. but there is only so much two people can do handling a whole place.
The food was "ehh" for the price. I had the Burrito Fajita with skirt steak. It was described as "served wet" and it truly was served wet. A little bit too much if you ask me. The flavors were "okay", the skirt steak was rather bland, stringy, and difficult to chew. The only saving grace was that I up-charged my side to French Fries (at a Mexican place) and those were truly impressive. For spending almost $20 on a "Mexican" meal I was left still hungry, unimpressed by the food, and sad for the wait staff that so many tables were being allowed to be seated.
I honestly would not come again for a dinner.
From 1/14/23: This review above remains spot on from when I visited last night. I decided to try it again but was again underwhelmed by the food quality and portion size. The picture shown is the Steak Tacobuerilla. For $18 the portion size, price, ingredients, all left me wanting more. I still remain unimpressed with this...

The menu stands out for offering dishes you won’t typically find in this area, using fresh ingredients and family recipes that incorporate traditional Mexican cuisine with modern flair and flavors.
Some highlights: Carne Asada - the meat is juicy and full of flavor with a perfect char, and is served with everything that should come with it Tacos - fresh tortillas make all the difference here! Lots of great options, but the Carne Asada Tacos are exactly what Mexican “street tacos” are supposed to be Chicken Mole - a great choice for a midwestern palette looking to try something new, the sauce is full of flavor - all at once sweet, smoky, savory, just spicy enough. I love this in enchilada form (pictured) but you can get it as a taco, tamale, or just on its own, too.
We’ve also loved the guacamole, aguachile, quesabirria tacos, and the empanadas.
The large drink menu deserves exploring, look beyond the margaritas to discover some fantastic options. The Corazón Oaxaqueño, made with mezcal and hibiscus, is one of my favorites. A Paloma always goes well with a summer day, and a Michelada somehow makes the Carne Asada taste even better.
They can get busy on weekend evenings, I usually make a reservation for those times just in case. It can get kind of loud, and it’s not a huge space so it can feel a bit crowded even if it’s not packed. They do offer online ordering, and we use that a lot to pick up a quick meal during...

Chips and salsa are free but when I asked for spicy salsa I was charged a dollar. It's not a big deal but I wish I knew ahead of time because I would have declined. The amount of salsa was good for about 5 chips and it was too small to dip. I had to pour it.
Our waiter had dirty fingernails, he was slow, forgetful, and he didn't seem to know the menu. He was cold and unfriendly. We waited nearly 20 minutes to order our drinks and we were there at 5pm (not their busiest time).
The food is expensive for what it is. This isn't a step above other Mexican restaurants. My wife's enchiladas were cold in the middle, the skirt steak in my quesadilla tasted old and chewy. My son's chicken taco wasn't a special order: it was a taco shell and plain shredded chicken. That's it. Nothing else.
The atmosphere was alright at first glance. However, the music was REALLY loud so kiss any chance of a table side conversation goodbye unless you feel like shouting. The place looks a bit worn down and sad. The employees stood around the hostess stand and talked the entire time we were there. It didn't come across as being very professional.
With a large number of Mexican restaurants in the area, save yourself the disappointment and avoid Verde. Even at half the cost it's just...
