IHOP — Restaurant in Flagstaff

I was making my way from Illinois to Arizona with Chevy truck, hauling a small StarCraft pop-up. Had to replace weather stripping on driver's side door.

O'Reilly's in Pratt, KS didn't have it in stock but Dodge City did. So, I paid for it in Pratt and picked it up in Dodge.

I'd been going All Day; tired and hungry, I went across street to IHOP. Hadn't been to one in ages!

The wait staff were extremely nice; food was great!! It was Halloween and they were all dressed up in costumes.

Low and behold, a nice young man with his wife and little one's arrived shortly after I'd ordered and was seated a few booths away from me; only a handful of diners at the time.

After the day I'd had, I decided to treat myself to a nice breakfast, though it was evening, and decided to "build your own omelet".

I got the works: 3 cheeses, ham, bacon, peppers, onions, and avocado! As well as 3 pancakes and a junior orange juice.

I was so looking forward to this meal... it arrived nice and hot! But my dad called and I asked if I could call him after I'd eaten.

As I was about to take my first bite, my husband called; having to talk to him my food got cold... hadn't got one bite in. Groan!

Upon hanging up I asked wait staff if by chance they could nuke it a little for me; did so, gladly. Oh... it was so good!!

The young man and his family had already finished and were on their way out.

I smiled at his young'ns as they made their way past my booth. Dad lingered a bit but as he approached my table, in one slick move, he reached down and with a soft smile, picked up the black folder that held my check and nonchalantly walked away. He must've witnessed my dilemma; hadn't had the chance yet to see what I owed; had to have been pricey...

Shocked, I rose, followed behind him a few steps and said, "What...why?"

He turned around and replied, "Tomorrow's Sunday, spend some time with our Lord".

I thanked him and said, "Amen"...

While at counter paying for both of our meals, I decided to approach him again and asked if he'd say a quick prayer for me before leaving.

He graciously agreed and we sat at my table as I told him my story.

Afterwards, we held hands and he prayed for me softly outloud..

Needless to say, the worst day ended up being the best day of my journey!! And at my favorite restaurant!!!

There are still good people out there in this, oh so...

Order food through a delivery service here and DON'T EXPECT TO BE TREATED LIKE A REGULAR CUSTOMER! They will lie to the driver and make them wait an extra 15-20 minutes just to have your food walk out the door... After being told "it's being bagged up right now" I watched two tables get seated, one of which their order was taken, all of which while watching other tables get their food... And this is not the first or second time... They have a lot of delivery drivers not picking up food and this is why. We deliver drivers upon getting there and seeing that the food is just being made can chose not to take the delivery. It's a self-fulfilling downward spiral. They leave us hanging and don't treat us with respect so we just cancel the delivery and move on to the next one so they end up with the food made and not being delivered. Worse yet we don't come back despite the fact that they may have made the food because we know this place is so bad about it already and don't trust a fair shake... A self-filling downward spiral that they are now at the low end of. But again they seemingly don't care about you so it doesn't matter to them. This is a repeated offense and I have decided I am never going back to this location as I'm sure many other delivery drivers have too... Some places are like this because they think since they never see the customer you don't matter as much, so the driver gets treated like a second class customer. Not a good feeling at all to be treated in such a way, so we leave upset. One of many reasons you may have a cranky...

March 7th Ordered on line after a night out. Got there and waited till app said food was ready. Go inside there's absolutely no around. Wait about 10 mins still no one. Walk around poke my head into door going into the kitchen. See the cook and ask him if I can get help. He says "they are outside smoking" really!! Buy now it's 15 mins into waiting. I try calling the restaurant to maybe get their attention. Nothing!! Another 10 mins and a waitress who looked pretty tweaked out comes in and says be right with you. Another 5 mins. We are at over 20 mins plus the 30 the app had us waiting is at 50 mins. She comes back again and asked what I had. By now I'm realizing how filthy the restaurant is. Dirty tables, trash in the floor. And still no one in the dining room doing anything. Waitress rushes out hand me the bag and says sorry as she rushes away. I check the bag and there's no syrup, no butter, silverware, not even all my food. Of course the waitress is gone. I wait for the cook to come out the bathroom and he starts gathering everything for me. Never did I see the waitress or anyone else besides the cook again inside the restaurant. Finally after 30+ mins waiting for my order, I go to my car to see my waitress and a group of other people, chilling and smoking next to a van in the parking lot. I still never go back to the dumpster fire of a restaurant. The service is horrible, restaurant so dirty and it not even worth the time. The cook was amazing though. He is the only redeeming quality in that place. The rest was a...
