Barleycorn's Florence — Restaurant in Florence

We were hoping when One Holland group took over it would improve; however, yesterday when we visited the Florence location (5 people) it took an hour for us to get our food and our server seemed to pay attention to us every 15 mintues. The beer was cold I will give you that; however, we all ordered simple lunch combos except for 1 she ordered wings and saratoga chips which should have been brought out within 15 mintues. There, were 4 tables who arrived after us and left before us. Two of us ordered french onion soup and baked potatoes. The soup was only warm and barely any cheese. The potatoes were warm not hot and the cheese was already solid. One person ordered a salad and a bowl of chili which it was only warm and he didn't get any type of cracker. When we asked for some we were brought out these thin peppered covered appetizer type crackers in a bowl. One of us had a salad and half turkey sandwich which wasn't warm and the person with the wings enjoyed them; however, her Saratoga chips were burnt. I even made mention how dark they were when the server delivered them and she just shook her head. What has happened to "let me take those back for you and get you a new batch?" We realize there are supply chain issues etc. but paying $50 (tip included for lunch for 3 people is outrageous). Come on Barleycorn's get your act together. On a side note everyone who came in had to wait to be seated at least 5 to 10 minutes. (our table was near the door). There were 2 managers running around...

Recently visited with a group of 8 for my mother's birthday. We were sat immediately inside without a wait. Rose was our server. She was friendly, handled our larger group well, and kept our drinks filled. My low rating has no reflection on her service. Five stars for her! Our issue was with the food. Two stars vs. one because the queso dip was delicious. My mother ordered her burger medium rare. It was beyond well done, burned, and then some. As were the sweet potato fries that came with it. The manager came out and replaced her burger, as well as took it off of the bill for the error. The replacement burger came, as requested, in a to go box for her to take home. She got it out the next day to eat, only to find it was just as burnt as the original one. My husband and son got the Wildcat chicken sandwich. Both came without any blue cheese dressing that comes on it. Thankfully, my mother had ordered extra that they were able to use. My brother and I both ordered the ham and cheese sliders. Mine were fine, but my brother's buns were both burnt and had to be remade. I'm not sure if the cook was new, overwhelmed, just didn't care, or was having an off night, but it was enough for us to know we will not be back.

Also, it is worth mentioning, in case you haven't been there for a while, like us... they no longer...

I have previously visited this location on multiple occasions, but unfortunately in the last couple of years, it seems the service has declined significantly. Earlier this year the food came out and was definitely delicious however the waiter disappeared for quite some time and we did not get any refills on drinks, she basically just took our order and dropped off the food, never to be heard from again.

The most recent time, just after Memorial Day, we came in to a fairly empty restaurant. The host sat us at a high top, where we did notice a large party. We weren't in a hurry and having both been servers we knew it might be a minute.......15 minutes later (maybe longer, I just started timing after we had waited for a minute) we still had not been taken care of. Several servers walked by, even what I think was a manager, and yet no one stopped for a second. I almost never leave a negative review but when multiple people walk by and no one says anything, it's pretty shameful. Will not be visiting this...
