Visited here recently for the first time with my family and girlfriend. We've been to Turfway many times to play slots, watch horse racing, or attend a special event. My mom has ate at Bourbon & Brew many times and recommended it, so we gave it a shot.
This restaurant is centered in the middle of the gaming area. It features quite a bit of tables, bar seating, and limited booths. The booths are reserved for larger parties. They have a spot behind the bar for live music and have a huge TV above the bar for watching sporting events with many other smaller TVs around the whole area. They also have a scrolling board that will show upcoming game times/current scores.
The ambiance is good for what it is. It was nice for us, but we were there before any live music and it wasn't super busy so we had a good experience without having to deal with a lot of background noise.
Our service was very attentive and nice. The menu is pretty small. A lot of options that previous reviews spoke of are no longer on the menu. They pretty much offer limited appetizers, burgers, and some entrees. I would definitely check the menu before deciding to eat here to make sure there is enough interest across your group.
Three of us ordered the Double Smash Burger and my girlfriend went with the caesar salad. The smash burger was good. Pretty much a basic burger, two patties and your typical fixings. It was a huge burger, so I cut mine in half. The burger came with fries as well. The meal with good just average. Nothing really special or over the top about it. I'd eat it again if I was hungry or wanting to watch a game, but not sure that I'd go out of my way to eat it again. My girlfriend said the caesar salad was good as well. The portion was huge, but it had a little too much dressing for her liking. Maybe something they should put on the side and let you put the amount you want.
Overall I'd say this is a good option if you're planning on spending a lot of time gaming, betting on horse races, or watching a game at Turfway. If not, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again unless they offered more options on their menu, had rotating specials, or something that just gave it more appeal to come back. The food wasn't bad at all it just...

The food was good. The service was quick and the atmosphere, well, it was a gaming atmosphere. After dinner we ended up playing the slots & winning enough to pay for dinner! Needless to say, we were not...
