Fillmore's Dairy Hut — Restaurant in Florence

First time there, not a good experience. They were busy, I will note that. I figured it would take a little while for our food, no problem. But when they started giving grilled food (not ice cream or drinks, those were obviously faster) to people that came in after us, I asked about ours. She stated, "oh yeah, they did a few before yours, but we are working on yours now." No explanation why, or apology. When our order was finally done, they put it on the counter, but never called our number. Another customer kept rummaging through it. Finally, I asked if it was ours, and was just told "yeah". The other customer explained they were given the same number, that's why they kept looking .. and probably why the ridiculous wait... We got our order to go, big mistake. It seems they made the fries and coney first, the fries were cold and mushy. The foot long coney, the bun was soggy, hardly any bland chili on it... didn't even end up eating but a few bites, with a fork. We live 5 minutes away, this didn't happen on the drive. What I believed happened is that they made the fries and coney, but the person grilling forgot the burger. So the rest of the food sat, others got their grill orders, then when I said something they finally made the burger. Which meant it sat for AT LEAST half an hour. I understand mistakes happen. But they should have remade the coney and fries, and apologized...

My friends from out of town and I went here after our dinner in Florence for dessert. We googled ice cream near us, and this jewel popped up! A very cute old-townie little diner. Prices were fantastic, and serving sizes were very generous for ice cream. The diner may appear to be outdated some, but the quality of service and dessert were great. They had other food items like most little dessert stops. (Burgers, fries, chicken tenders, appetizers and soda etc.) A really good menu with a variety of options. We did not sample any of the food, so I can't speak on that. Fillmore's Dairy Hut had a very spacious parking lot and many places to sit both indoors and outdoors. We were surprised to find that their restrooms were outside around the back of the building. One single toilet bathroom for each men and women.

Overall, my friends and I had a lovely visit for dessert to Fillmore's Dairy Hut, and if we are in the area again, we will definitely be going back! We enjoyed watching the sunset outside and eating ice cream at their picnic table on a...

Used to get a reasonably priced milkshake here all the time. Now they're high, they don't even use real ice cream so I don't know why they charge the same as others who actually use real ice cream? Stopped in for one anyhow to treat myself, stood at the counter for 5 minutes while everyone completely ignored me. Nobody so much as looked at me much less had the manners to say "I'll be with you in just a moment" or anything. The old lady walked by me even... nothing. I was the only person in line to order, standing in front of all of you! ??? Lady sitting down eating even acknowledged my existence and gave a head shake to the ridiculousness of your blatant ignoring of me. I just walked out and kept my money. They've been there since the 60's so I guess they really don't care about customers, want or need business? That's cool, I won't bother you again.
