My family is always looking for new parks. I found this one online, and we decided to check it out. It is my new favorite city park.
The equipment on the main playground is castle themed which provides the perfect back drop for hours of imaginative play. The equipment provides opportunities for all ages to enjoy, and it is newer and well kept. There is a walking trail that circles the park that includes four excercise/ activity stations and benches for resting along the path. There is even a tree that provides a few branches perfect for climbing. I love this feature. My son loves to climb trees, but apartment living does not provide him with many opportunities to do so.
This park has both a sand volleyball and basketball court. When there are no takers on a volleyball game, you can find happy children playing in the sand. They have a covered shelter with picnic tables and grills, indoor restrooms, as well as a fountain for thirsty children and fur babies.
My only constructive criticism would be that the flooring under the equipment is in disrepair, however, they have signs posted that they will be replacing it in Spring of this year. The bathrooms could use a little tlc, but that is somewhat to be expected in an outdoor park. There was also some hair that was clinging to some of the equipment. It might not be a bad idea to wipe it down occasionally.
From toddler to teen and beyond, this park is fabulous. I would highly...
Read moreThis is one of Sir Rebellious of Montrose's favorite parks. It's close by. They have doggie bags and a water fountain for dogs. Rebel found the volleyball court on this trip. I wish I had my camera. He has never seen sand before. He was running around, rolling in it, digging and sticking his cute little nose in it. Something about parks I'd like to mention. Always take what you brought. I always bring an extra plastic shopping bag and fill it with litter I find. If we all did that the parks would stay pristine. I'm not asking you to change the world, just change yourself. I'll get some good pics next time. Till Rebel's Review is...
Read moreWas staying in town for a few says and brought my 4-year old here a couple times. Love the play equipment and there are lots of other kids to play with. The second day, though, saw what looked like a deflated balloon floating around the playground. My son was looking at it when I realized it was a condom that had been blown up and tied off. Picked it up along with the Trojan wrapper nearby and threw them in the trash on our way to the car to sanitize my hands. Glad a younger child didn't grab it and put it in their mouth. I'm sure it was some teenagers' idea of a joke,...
