Where do I start? In town for a baseball game and gave this place a try because of the high reviews. Not sure who is giving these reviews, but I was so disappointed. Let's start with our order of breadsticks. The breadsticks aren't fresh dough. Has to be a frozen breadstick because they look just like the ones you get out of box you can purchase at the grocery store. Same size and shape. So there is nooooo way the breadstick are made fresh in house. How is it possible that we received our bread sticks in less than 5 minutes after ordering them? Again has to be a frozen product that has been thawed out and it tasted like it. By the way, the sauce that comes with the breadstick was ice cold in a plastic cup. Like someone just took it out of the fridge. Yes, ice cold. Why??? Next lets talk about the pizza. Again there is no way that pizza dough is fresh pizza dough. We actually thought it tasted like the dough you would get on a frozen pizza. Bland, no flavor, compact and dense dough. Again there is no way that his pizza dough is made fresh daily and pressed out in store. Impossible! The sauce lacked flavor, no seasoning and bland. I can't remember the last time I had to sprinkle salt on a pizza to try to improve the taste. Finally the service was marginal at best. There were two ladies working there. The first lady that told us to just pick a table and seat ourselves had the personality of a cardboard cut out. Very impersonable and we felt like we were an inconvenience on her afternoon. After she left to say she was going to take out the trash, the other lady (younger of the two) at least came over and smiled. We didn't get a detailed bill when we went to checkout, just the total and then they added almost a dollar when we used our debit card to the total. Overall not a good experience and again I don't understand how this place is rated so high. If you're looking fresh ingredients and a pizza packed with flavor,...

Read moreWe are just passing through town, so we looked around for something easy to grab for dinner and football (CFP playoffs!).
I would recommend these guys highly.
Tom’s is a classic (to me) old school pizza place. The only thing missing from my childhood perceptions of pizza places is a table top style Galaga machine. The table cloth, beer cooler, drink ware, and overall ambience hit me in the little kid feels.
We had a bit of time to wait for our order, so we grabbed a couple beers and watched some football. Super comfortable experience, and a really friendly staff.
The important part of this review should be the food. We had a large two topping pizza, a medium cheese, and some garlic cheese bread.
The garlic cheese bread was pretty standard. A hoagie roll. Butter. Garlic. Cheese. It was good.
The pizza was excellent in my opinion. My family agreed. I have significant appreciation for an old school pizza joint that makes a pizza without all the fancy stuff (i.e. yak milk mozzarella from a specific street in a Mongolian villa) but make it so that it still comes out tasting great.
The crust and sauce must be key to that success. Both were really on point. They also used a generous amount of cheese. The pizzas travelled well back to our hotel, too.
We travel between TN and OH rather often, and like the hotel we landed in for this stopover. Now we have a go-to for some pizza dinner, whether we eat in...
