Venus Restaurant & Catering — Restaurant in Florence

The restaurant is historically known for its breakfast all day food options and savory Southern and Greek American food classics menu; however, the local indoor smoking ban has and the more recent allegedly temporary pandemic regulations have all but shut down the dinner/supper operations the locals have always loved this local institution for. It’s almost as if they’re giving up and closing the doors slowly, but surely. Best breakfast for supper in town, IF YOU CAN CATCH THEM OPEN, but it’s looking like that’s never going to be so again! Mr. and Mrs. Doulaveris, if you turn over the reigns to someone else, even if they’re not in the family, please don’t make them have to buy the name separate from the business. There’s been enough of that and it’s destroyed the feel-good Florence once had. Do this community a favor and let any new owner/operators be able to do so as The Venus Pancake House without having to pay a fortune for a name. We all know Cruise the View failed from not being able to call itself Sky View and now no one wants to buy just the name and all of Florence thought it was incredibly petty of the previous owners of 301 Drive In to not allow the use of the name when they sold the business over to new owners and the whole community STILL calls it 301 regardless. I hope you’re not retiring or selling, and I hope your family plans to reopen at full hours again very soon, but if selling and getting out is the plan, do better by the Florence Community than other local proprietors did when they sold and retired. I understand that restaurants get busy but that should not be the excuse you use when someone tells you their food was served cold. I have been here many times and never felt disrespected as I felt today. I tried to get the attention of the staff when my meal was served to no avail. She had dropped the food in record time with the check mind you and then never came back to the table I don’t like to complain loudly and usually never complain food even if it’s wrong I mostly eat it anyway. However COLD EGGS omelet are not I mean even the slice of cheese didn’t melt in anyway just layed on top of refrigerator cold ham and cold bacon isn’t really that nice either. So I quietly took my plate up to the front and told them everything was cold and I was just going to go and pay and leave. They did offer to remake it but I was turned off of breakfast by then so I said quietly no thanks this is where I had have an issue, the Lady at the register gave me an attitude and said well we are busy I don’t think that is a good excuse personally and I know me not coming back will hurt them in any way but I really was trying to be quiet about it and not make a big fuss but the rudeness of her turned me...

Wanted to eat breakfast for lunch and needed to buy as take out, since buying for two seniors. I remembered Venus as an alternative place, after I had called and tried to order online at a DIFFERENT place, but had way to much difficulties. Extremely happy that I did call Venus! Was able to talk to a real person and have answers to my questions. I could tell that the staff person was busy but she was polite. Food would be ready by time I arrived, I was told, and it was! Price and taste of food was great too! I didn't think to ask if the staff could bring food out to car and didn't see any designated parking spots, so only down side was that customers need to come into restaurant to pick up food? Not a problem for me, but is a problem for customers that are at high risk for flu or covid-19, or customers that work in high concentrations of people with these illnesses, who don't want to take a chance on exposing others.
