Sonny's BBQ — Restaurant in Florida City

Saw the great reviews, and want to try this place. Ordered through calling in. Very helpful in taking order and giving suggestions. Professional, Ordered family pack with two meats.

Placed order for take out while going to the camping ground. And before I left the place I asked can I have napkins. The person at the counter said that everything is in the bag. After driving 20 min towards campground kids are hungry and opened the packets.. no spoons and forks and napkins and plates.

How do we eat? Called the reataurent.. they apologize asked if they can deliver.. or bring the order back and they would fix it again fresh and everything. Kids are hungry and we are hungry and going back will waste one hour.. and I remember when I am at the counter a couple came saying that they did not get the full order and brought back.. I should have realized that they are slopy in filling the order. My mistake right..

Finally found a fork in the car and every one started eating from the box same fork.. the meat is dry and not much flavor.. then thought something is missing. Then realized while ordering on phone I was not asked about the sauces.. at the end, my family did not enjoy the food, may be because lack of sauce.

Ordered banana pudding.. not my southern style. All pudding in a cup and 3 cookies/wafers and wiped cream on the top. Wafers should be layered in pudding will give you texture..taste is ok.

Overall, The food is ok. Did not match the Google rating. Sloppy in service, not offering sauces is a bummer.

Again my mistake that I did not ask about sauces!!

Oh the French fries.. they are horrible, no salt or pepper, just fried.. no flavor very bland, some are not fully cooked again no sauce or ketchup or anything to dip.

Lot of people liked it.. You may like it....

“Ribs, Roads, and Ridiculous Deliciousness – 2015 Never Tasted So Good!”

We stopped at Sonny's BBQ back in 2015, and let me tell you — it’s still one of the most glorious, smoky, sauce-covered food memories we’ve ever had. We still talk about it. Sometimes we dream about it. Sometimes we wake up craving ribs at 2 a.m. and whisper, “Sonny’s…” into the void.

First off: Location, location, location. Right off S Dixie Highway, practically begging you to pull in. Whether you’re heading to the Keys, escaping Miami, or just pretending to be on a road trip to justify eating BBQ at 3 PM — this place is perfectly placed. We didn’t even need to think about it. Blink, and boom: Ribs.

Now, the food. Sweet, smoky heaven. We ordered the ribs. (Obviously.) And they were the kind of ribs that make you pause mid-bite just to process what’s happening in your mouth. Fall-off-the-bone tender, beautifully charred on the outside, and slathered in that glorious BBQ sauce that makes your fingers sticky and your soul happy. We may have stopped talking altogether during the meal — just a table full of people making “mmm” sounds and staring lovingly at smoked meat.

The sides were also great (mac and cheese, cornbread, baked beans — all the classics, all on point), but let’s be honest: we came for the ribs, and the ribs delivered like a smoky punch to the tastebuds.

Service was fast, friendly, and totally chill. Classic BBQ joint vibes — no fuss, no pretense, just meat and happiness.

Pro tip: Wear something loose. You’ll want the extra space. Trust us.

If you're in Homestead and your GPS says you're anywhere near Sonny's, turn in. Don’t argue. Just follow the smoke and the joy.

Today was my first day at Sonny’s BBQ in homestead but make no mistakes is not going to be my last one!!! The experience was great since the beginning The host was really friendly polite with basically no waiting times even that we arrive on a Sunday 4:00 pm After that our server recommend us and direct us based on our statement “is our first time” I want to order a family dish (we were a party of 2) she recommended me the sonny sampler that have basically everything and to be honest it was enough for the two of us… the waiting time was minimal les than 5 min after we order we have the food on our table!!!! Now the food….. we’ll The pulled pork was really good the flavor was well balanced and a good portion with the bread 8/10 The chicken well is chicken not my favorite any were but it was good 7/10 With the ribs great flavor really great to be honest tender and the tasted just can’t get better. 9/10 But at the end…. The perfectly cooked and juicy brisket with the right amount on fat and meat right temperature and super tender…. With that smoked flavor was just enough 10/10 The prices were unusually friendly in regard the portion sizes, so 10/10 Si yes my Friends do not hesitate to come and have a great time eating with friends and family….
