Downgrading to 1 star from 2. Applebee's is Applebee's. Do not come to this one if you need ADA access. See video. Shame on you. I explicitly requested, and spoke to the manager upon entry. His excuse about the inability to pass a wheelchair from the parking lot to anywhere near the main entrance was that they've "told the property manager" in the past. How many times? Since when? You built ramps and blocked them?! It appears that the parking lot was last re-done years ago, so I'm guessing it's been like this for years. Enough excuses, people. THINK and RESPECT. To their defense, there is a handicap parking area further away to the west that has ramps, but as you see in the video, not as you get closer to the entrance. It's a little nonsensical for Delray Beach. UPDATE: Now 1 star, because when I mentioned to our server (whose name I am intentionally omitting), we had not been visited in over 15 min and all three of us were with empty beverage glasses including water, she blamed the bartender. Huh? The bartender didn't even know we were empty. Better yet, she didn't revisit with water. We had to ask someone else to get the water several minutes later. A couple minutes after that, the second manager stopped by to mention he had heard about the ADA question. I laughed. Look immediately out your front door. What's the first thing you see? A handicap deterrent, and more convenient for your employees when they're delivering food, car-side? And the cherry on top, as I'm filling out the survey on the tabletop billing system, our server very rudely asked if I had "thoroughly" replied to every question in the survey, again very rudely. When I turned around and approached her about it, she wanted nothing to do with it, then the manager came over and escorted her to the back. As we're exiting and our caregiver is walking my father around the perimeter of the property in the wheelchair, the manager comes outside to again point fingers at others and say that "we've been trying to get this fixed." He asked for my information to document it, and in the same breath he told me that they had already been sued multiple times about it. That should be sufficient, right? I simply pointed to my father and our caregiver at a distance. Oh, then he said he terminated [the employee] on the spot. Yay? Unnecessary and not very encouraging to other teammates. Can't this employee simply go through a little training or performance improvement plan? Where's the leadership? Anyway, just get all this fixed. I can lay cement for about $500 for 10 square feet. I can reconfigure a parking lot. Thank you. What is the cost of good customer service? Please prioritize customer service & the handicapped. Weird experience. Everyone seems aloof, including management. Multiple employees blamed other employees. No team effort whatsoever. Questionable HR practice. Abnormal. Mea culpa...

Where do I start? I’ve been eating good in the neighborhood since I was a young kid. I go for the classic boneless buffalo wings almost every time. Their menu has evolved over the years and their food has never been a disappointment to myself and the company I’m with. The reason I decided to write this review was for the employees at this particular location. Lori, who is one of the managers there - has been nothing short of amazing each time we have dined in. Every employee that I have encountered there has been extremely nice and professional. Any problem we’ve had, it has been fixed almost immediately. The food industry can be tough sometimes but they are the reason we come back every single time. Miranda - who is one of the waitresses, went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Not only was she professional, she was genuine. The last time we were there our waitress was Holly. I give nothing but respect to her work ethic and how knowledgeable she was about Applebees. Thank you guys for always making sure we are happy coming in. You are the perfect example as to why Applebees is still my favorite place to eat.

We have been to plenty of Applebee's and usual found them to be good. Not top of the line but satisfactory nonetheless. Our first impression of this one was, wow it is 1:15 pm on a Saturday and there were only 3 tables with people at them. We were not greeted until we said something. The "host" didn't seem very knowledgeable but at least we finally got to sit down. We were able to order quickly but the server couldn't remember my order. Then the waiting began. We waited almost 35 minutes for the appetizers and then we got our food when we were about half way down with the appetizers. Thank God there was only two of us sitting, otherwise there wouldn't have been enough room on the table. The food was as expected. Although as empty as the place was we felt rushed at the end as the server brought our check with our to go boxes. We may think twice about going to this one again.

  • edited for resolution* To be fair I changed the number of stars to account for the many times we ate and had a pleasant experience. Within 12 hours of my initial complaint the general manager, Chris, reached out and spoke to me in length. We had a very nice conversation where we discussed my experience pertaining to this review. I am pleasesd with the resolution I received.

Went for dinner Friday, May 9th, at 5:50 to eat before the dinner rush. Our waitress, Sunshine obviously was having a night. We waited 7 minutes after being seated for her to even acknowledge we had sat down. She never introduced herself or apologized for the delay. Just asked for our drink and food order. (At this point the restaurant was still pretty empty) while we patiently waited another 6/7 minutes our salads came out. My boyfriend in the interim had already approached the waitress wondering why we didn't at least have water at this point. Her response was OK. Next our entrees were brought out a few minutes later, at this point we asked for a manager. After a few more minutes the waitress finally showed up with the drinks and said they had to wait for a clean glasses. The manager showed up shortly after and could of cared less didn't apologize or seem concerned, in fact she made excuses saying maybe she has something else going on. As management she should have been present on the floor. not tucked away in the back, helping the staff if someone needed it. Well d@mn I'm so sorry to be an inconvenience to you at your job. I just needed some water so I didn't choke on my food. The manager/server could have easily asked someone anyone to bring out two waters sometime before our entrees arrived. Kudos to the hostess for bringing us to go boxes, the runners who brought our food out hot and the kitchen staff for a delicious meal. I have worked in a customer service based industry for 30 plus years and this to me is unacceptable. The table behind us was also trying to flag down the manager as they were in the same situation with no drinks. I just found it odd that all the other serving staff was able to bring drinks to their guests and our...

I go to Applebees with my 87 year old dad. We Always order guacamole burger and he likes a beer with it. I just left this establishment DISGUSTED. The meat was borderline raw and when you bit into it Grease poured down your hands. I used 2 napkins to soak up the grease. A few years ago my father and I would have sent it back but he is not in any shape to sit very long so he doesn't want his food sent back or to complain not to mention he has macular degeneration and he cannot see so situation caused a Ruckus between him and I, me wanting to send it back and then when the manager came by and I told her what happened and showed her the grease soaked napkin, she smiled and said "oh my" and tried to change the subject by telling me what a beautiful necklace I was wearing. Never offered apology or anything then when the server came by and I explained to Natalie the server what happened. Clarify NATALIE HAD MORE MANAGEMENT SKILLS THAN MANAGER. This young lady was very observe t polite and concerned. She went in to tell me that the burger is just messy like that.. is one of her favorites.. I had to insure her that it's one of our favorites as well and we have never had a burger so greasy that the cook apparently forgot to let the burger sit for a few minutes before putting it in the tortilla and she AGREED. (NATALIE SHOULD BE THE MANAGER OF THIS RESTAURANT) It was very obvious that wasn't done it was almost like they put the burger in the deep fryer and fried the burger that way! I also told that to the manager, so the manager handle this very wrong, she sent the server to tell me that they do not cook the burgers in deep fryers.. what the hell is going on with Applebee's? I just moved to South Florida and maybe because there's so many elderly people they just don't care what kind of food they put out but I will definitely be calling corporate and making a complaint and until I get an answer from them that is satisfying, me and my father will never frequent this Applebees on Jog rd in delray beach fl again! I have been in this buisness for half my life and this experience is...
