I don't often write reviews, but this review is needed. I live in St Augustine, and eat in town often. My wife and I came on a Friday night for date night with high expectations and left very disappointed and with an empty wallet.

Staff: 10/10 very friendly. Environment: 10/10 it's a cool space. Food: 2/10 Drinks: 0/10 Wait times: 0/10

There were maybe 20 people in the restaurant when we were there, for context. We waited an hour for our drinks, which when arrived were watered down and tasteless. To date- one of the worst Old Fashioneds I've had. After our first round of cocktails we didn't opt for a 2nd- we ordered a bottle of wine instead.

Our Charcuterie board finally arrived shortly after our drinks, which also took an hour.

Our entrées arrived 20mins after the board- we ordered 2 chef select steaks. The steak came sliced and was SMOTHERED in the saltiest Salisbury steak type of gravy- it was like eating a hungry man TV dinner. We couldn't finish it. $68 per plate...

We cashed out pretty quickly after eating and ended up spending $300 for the board, a round of bad cocktails, a bottle of wine, and two disappointing steaks.

Lisa, our server- was the only obvious positive experience we had at the restaurant. She was a delight. Give her a raise- she was the glue that held it all together.

To the owner- hire more staff and train your bartenders. There is absolutely no reason to wait an hour for bad drinks and a basic Charcuterie board. Some chef training is needed too- lay off the salt.

It will take some convincing to go back to this restaurant; but I'll admit I'd like to give it another shot to see if my experience this past Friday was an anomaly. I hope to have a better experience next time- and if so, I'll gladly update this review. This place has a lot of potential and I hope to see it succeed, but the owner needs to invest in his staff and training them on how to deliver quality meals and drinks within reasonable time frames.

All-in-all, a disappointing experience at wayyy too high a price. I would not recommend...

This was terrible. We ordered the Ultimate Bloody Mary & Maria Board and what arrived had nothing from the menu. When I pointed this out to our server she disappeared for a while then came back with a tiny portion of salami and three thick slices of bacon. Then a little while later two slices of mozzarella.

What did come out originally was terrible. Tomatoes were mushy. Pickled onions and string beans so vinegary they were close to inedible. Pickled eggs and beets were ok. But none of these were listed with what we ordered.

This is what should have arrived:

"Enhance your drink with savory olives, hearty salami slices, crisp celery stalks, tangy pickled okra, creamy fresh mozzarella balls, spicy banana peppers, zesty lime wedges, indulgent bacon skewers, peppery radish slices, fiery Datil peppers, briny capers, sweet baby corn, or flavorful chorizo."

We did have olives. No celery. No fresh mozzarella balls. No banana peppers. No lime wedges, zesty or otherwise. No bacon skewers. No radish. No datil peppers. No capers. No baby corn. No chorizo.

I don't know what we got but our server insisted she put the order in correctly. For a restaurant called bourbon and boards I expected the server and kitchen understood what is listed on the menu and someone should have noticed.

Even after we pointed out the error she just brought over a few items that were still not as described in the menu. No manager ever stopped over to speak with us.

For the price what we received was not worth it and downright awful. Maybe if we had received what we ordered we would have enjoyed it but we will never know as we will never go back.

Overpriced. Unexplainable disconnect between the menu and the kitchen. Terrible pickled veggies.

I recommend you avoid and save your money. There are many better...

Worst dining experience ever. A big HOT. MESS. I have never been so let down that I didn't tip, but a $2 tip was generous in this case. If I could give a zero star review I would. We waited forever at our table for someone to finally come to say hello and take our drink order. Then that person disappeared for awhile and another showed up to do it again, and we explained we had ordered drinks. They finally brought them. The food came out fairly quick after that, and wasn't bad. Our soup came out with no spoon, and after asking for one twice, it came. We had ordered another tapas dish that never came, which I finally cancelled when we waited about 30 minutes for it, and were ready to leave. After we paid, and were about to leave they brought it out! The waiter came to the table and told the kitchen to send it back. At this point it would have been a courtesy to comp it and send it home with us in a box, rather than throw it away. This may have garnished him a better tip, even though he seemed to hide from us most of the night. As far as the bourbon selection...a HUGE letdown. If you are really into bourbon, do not let the fact that bourbon is in the name fool you... go to Fish Camp instead (amazing selection). Nothing decent for top shelf. Most are just ok small name bourbons that are from states or areas that probably shouldn't be producing/ aging bourbon. I had the Brothers Bond cask strength because I hadn't before... and never will I again: from taste it was a 2-3 yr and tasted very hot with no depth... for $24/pour. I rarely leave reviews, but really wanted the public to not be taken...

We were thrilled to find this great new place on our recent trip to St. Augustine! We loved it so much we went back every day we were there. The first night we were fortunate to be seated in a lovely lounge section with couches and comfy chairs. Our group of 5 enjoyed watching the lights on the square; it was beautiful! The drinks we ordered were all tasty and well-made, including the espresso martini and a lemoncello type drink. That night we ordered the traditional board, and were pleased with the variety of tastes as well as the presentation. The second day we popped in for a drink and snack. We inquired about sitting in the section with the couches, as it was very quiet in the restaurant (late afternoon), but we're told it is a VIP area and costs $250 to reserve. That was unfortunate, but we know this place is new, so maybe that was a policy change that day, but it probably would have served then better to make the restaurant look popular from the street by having a group of ladies sitting in the front window. Either way, we sat at the bar where we had excellent service from the bartender. Drinks were, again, perfect. We also tried one of the flatbreads, which was delicious. The last night we were in town we snuck in just before closing, with enough time to have one drink. This is an excellent place to go, with a mellow vibe, great drinks, delicious, creative food, and live music each time we visited. Highly recommend.

My wife and I wanted to check this place since their opening. You don't initially think that there is a good size menu but once you dig in you see really what they have to offer. We decided to do our initial check/screen with drinks and apps/tapas. If a restaurant is bad or has an off night then you can avoid an expensive bad experience. In my opinion, this helps both parties since a bad experience equals a bad review. Win-win rather than lose-lose. Why am I telling you about my process? This restaurant I want to love. It has great ambiance, staff, the owner cares, and the food has the flavor potential. This particular night they didn't pass our test. We ordered the Reubens brother and the potato and mushroom tacos. The pastrami was tough but the flavor was there. The mushroom and potato tacos had uneven knife cuts which resulted in some of the potatoes not being completely done however the flavor was also there. The drinks were wonderful and I liked their house old fashioned. We will be back to update the review in hopes of increasing the scores. My advice to the owner is to increase the quality control of the food coming out which will reinforce the price and value of your dishes. Again the flavor potential is there but from my best estimation, it's the consistency.

How are these people not behind bars!? This is sickening and needs to end. Money can only hide a person for so long after all. Paper trails are an important factor when getting caught up in misclasification of employees and unpaid wages and makes me wonder how many people or employees have been sent off the deep end with their heartless behaviors. Seems they have made it a custom to screw their employees lively hoods by withholding pay that normal every day people have worked hard for. People like this are exactly what's wrong with the world these days. Natalie among others have been screwed over by these people for a quick buck. Darkness is always destroyed by the light and it's about time this whole charade stops. I've been financially hindered as well by their inactions to pay employees appropriately because I had to lend out a rent payment to keep a friend from being evicted who was a former employee there or as they always like to call it "independent contractors" which is a HUGE no no given the employer-employee relation is it not? 👀👀
