Best cheesesteaks locally so far in Florida from an authentic born n raised. We order 4 to 5 at a time n live outside the usual delivery area but EVERYTIME I call in they bring my order right to my house. We order at least twice a month minimum it always arrives hot and fresh. With ordering online it says Door Dash is who delivers but Door Dash has South of Philly as closed or can't order now call them South of Philly directly if you need or would like delivery and it won't go through online they were supposed to update the nitch on Door Dash it's been a few months still wouldn't let me order online through delivery with Door Dash so make sure you call South of Philly directly they go above and beyond everytime I call in for delivery or just downtown to pick up myself. Awesome staff and owners very friendly and welcoming. Their rolls are amazing just like up north I always ask the rolls not be toasted and always supe fresh and soft, their cheesesteak meat is the BEST IN OUR AREA LOCALLY a taste of PA in Florida. They always make mine exactly as I ask never had an issue with anything we order from them and we have been going there since they opened many years now. They are open until very late another plus if you're out and in the area when everyone else in our town has long been closed by 9pm they are open. Geat place to grab a bite to eat after being downtown or at the bars and or you have the munchies you have to try them out if you haven't already you will not regret it and you'll be coming back over and over. Everything from them is so delicious, cheesesteaks are my weakness I crave one twice a week lately, their funnel sticks with powdered sugar are delicious we are hooked on them too. Cheese fries with the cheese on the side yummy...their quality stays on point the only ones in Saint Augustine who stay consistent, haven't ever had a bad sandwich of any kind where the other establishments are great one day and not so good other days. Quality and quantity all 5 plus stars and above, it has to be we keep coming back! It's a REAL Philly in all the ways you prefer they make it exactly as you ask or tell them in detail if you only like them done to satisfy your preferences or all of northerners who miss a REAL PHILLY CHEESESTEAK and for those of you whom haven't ever had the real deal it's a must you won't be disappointed. Literally the rudest and worst customer service I have ever come across. Coming from someone who works in the restaurant Industry I would have NEVER spoken to a customer the way my family and I were spoken to today. We walked in and there was nobody at the host stand. The guy grabbing the food looked at us without acknowledgement. So I said hello and the only reply I got was a blunt and attitude filled “we are at capacity” as he was walking away from us. I looked around and saw absolutely no sign about what their capacity was and to make it that much better there were about 5-8 open tables. We stood there waiting for people to leave and about a minute later three people got up and left so we asked if they were still at capacity and if we just needed to wait for 2 more people to leave (there were 5 of us) to which the guy responds “whatever just do what you want” WHAT?? At this point we were frustrated and were ready to leave when the kitchen guy chimes in. He asked what was going on and thinking he was going to try and fix the situation, we told him. Our bad for thinking there was anyone who actually cared working in this establishment, because he responded with “ok” and then under his breath said something along the lines of “I don’t really care”. I have to say, I'm very disappointed being that this was my first visit, and had high expectations, and hoping to find something even CLOSE to what I'm used to. I'm a born and raised Philly girl, and I KNOW EXACTLY what a AUTHENTIC Philly should taste like. This place didn't even come close. I was under the impression the owners were native Philadelphians, and used authentic products, but they definitely DO NOT. They advertise they use real "wiz", but their "WIZ" is NOT REAL "WIZ", and they used nothing more than a common cheddar sauce, which was not good at all. Too thick, clumpy, and extremely salty. They DO NOT use Amoroso rolls, but rather use a basic sub roll, maybe from Publix? The sandwiches did had a good portion of meat, only good thing I can report, although I don't believe if it was even actual shaved Ribeye. It was thickly sliced, and very chewy - NOT indicative of a true Philly Cheesesteak. If you are going to advertise authentic products, you should actually use them. What this restaurant sells are basic "cheese steaks", NOT "PHILLY CHEESESTEAKS"..... And although there are other reviews, you have to consider unless you are from Philly and KNOW what a true Philly is, your review is only based on your "general" food exoerience.
