This was our 1st time staying here. We are regulars to St. Augustine and usually stay always stay at our regular B & B. This time we could not get the room we wanted so we tried Casa De Solana. The rooms was antique (ish) but thats what you expect especially staying on the oldest street in St Augustine. The jacuzzi was not really for 2 people (unless you are really short) But it was enjoyable. Room was cozy the fireplace which was just for the ambience was nice. The balcony was cozy and you could over look everything. We had a very MAJOR issue when we returned to the room. Our room was flooded and one side had alot of water. There had been a major rain/wind rain storm that evening. We reached out to the emergency number about 5 times, texted and emailed with no response. We were NOT happy, items were almost soaking wet. And no response from the emergency number as we were told to call.... BUT.......... After I spoke with Oliver that next morning I let him know how VERY unhappy we were. Within 6 hours I received a call from Jonathan who apologized for everything we had to deal with, and was sorry he could not respond to our emergency call. BUT Jonathan refunded all of our money for the nights we spent there. He knew how very unhappy we were. But I wanted to say how grateful and thankful we are for the staff at Casa De Solana for refunding all of our money and actually caring enough to make sure we were taken care of. We will stay here again, should our B & B not be available. I can say I recommend this B & B just because they actually gave a damn about customer service.... They are conveniently located so you walk anywhere to any attraction, restaurant or bar. We only had one breakfast bc we were just so upset and left on Sunday morning. But we met the chef, who prepared a peach french toast with sausage. Very tasty. We never got to taste the cookies (which I wish we did) Places like this are very few and far between when it comes to customer service..

Sadly dated and falling apart at the seams, and not in a charming way. Dark red floral pattered, mystery stained carpets with a moldy smell. The rooms look like a cheap model, not at all as pictured, with tv wires sticking out haphazardly, bathtubs in the middle of the bedrooms, moldy and brown stained ceilings. We had no choice but to stay here ultimately, but I regret I spent my money here. We never saw anyone at the front desk, we were left a letter to check in because we checked in late. We came ten minutes late for breakfast (which is from 8:30-9:30) and the staff was eating the breakfast. When we came in they just stared at us - we were okay with missing breakfast, but even the juice was quickly swept away from us. No problem, again, as we were very disappointed by the breakfast the previous day (2 pieces of rock hard sausage and a croissant French toast…excuse me, I meant to say week old stale Publix croissants fried in egg and bathed in syrup), but the women working (two European women) were so rude the whole time…as someone who is European, who thankfully doesn’t live in Europe anymore, I can spot European “customer service” a mile away. We were checking out around 7am - there was no one at the front desk and one of the rude girls just said “give me the keys, bye”. For 700 for three nights…I just isn’t what you expect. Please don’t waste your money here. I’m sure there are better places around. Attaching the photo of the horror movie worthy bathroom ceiling. I’m just trying to pay it forward by making sure no one gets themselves into the same kind of situation. Only pro: Kathy helped us figure out check in after hours and at one point okayed parking in the loading zone when I called her. Thank you to Kathy.

We just got here today. 30 year anniversary. First impresión? Beautiful. Decorations? Berry impressed for a 250 year old house. Nothing is perfect but personally I am very impressed. The room is private (Cielo room, second floor with balcony. I will post more once we are done with our stay. The place is in the middle of the historic district near to many attractions. Our room was Cielo, second floor. Very nice, Balcony with a nice view of the yard. Kathy the Receptionist was great, always ready and willing to help as well as the ladies that did our breakfast. It is a very quiet place, the prices compared with the other B&B around, are affordable. Coffee and water for tea all day. The atmosphere of the place is as expected of an antique House. Beautiful decoration. In our room we had all that we needed. We live in Bradenton Florida (4 hours away) and i am Telling you, you will not regret it. We are already making plans for the next Anniversary or Vac. Yes, the parking for the Hotel is a few blocks away, walking is good for the body. We park our car and just walk all over the place not a problem. All the people we met in the Inn here were so friendly and down to earth, berry respectfully and polite. Something that the World seems to be missing nowadays. Highly Recommended, but make reservations with time, since the place is booked all year round. We did ours like 6 months ago. Well, to all the employees of Casa De Solana, Thank you much for making our 30/ year anniversary unforgettable, pleasant and priceless. Thank you.

In short: great food, lovely service, comfortable rooms and good parking.

Full review:

I stayed in the Catalina Suite for a wedding with one other person. The room is definitely on the smaller side of what the Inn has available, but that was absolutely no problem for me. My first impression of the room was how clean and cute it was. The only downside is that if you’re very tall, (6’3+) you might not find it very comfortable because the ceiling in this room are short. I would call and ask about the ceiling height if this concerns you. Ceilings in the suites, on the other hand, are nice and tall, so that’s not an issue. The bed was very soft, which I liked, but some rooms have firmer mattresses if that’s what you prefer. Again, I’d just ask if that concerns you. After a long day, I really enjoyed sinking into that mattress. That, coupled with the lack of noise disturbances at night, probably due to the age restriction, made for a very nice stay. Don’t forget to strip the beds and leave a tip when you end your stay!

The parking is great. It’s a short walk away, and it’s not hard to get to once you remember the walk to and from it. The loading and unloading area is, quite frankly, cramped. Not ideal for larger cars, but you shouldn’t be getting stuck. However, the parking, just a few blocks away, is fine. Considering you only have to go to the loading area once or twice in your trip, it’s really not a problem, especially since the reason why it’s so cramped is because it’s right in the historic section. Consider the discomfort of loading and unloading what you exchange for being so close to the lovely Lightner Museum, Flagler College and so many amazing shops and restaurants in cute cobblestone roads.

As a venue, Casa de Solana is gorgeous. The dining and seating areas are perfect for guests. The space is limited, so it’s ideal for a smaller party. I was a bridesmaid at a small wedding and everyone was so charmed by the decor. The attention to detail was noticeable, and it made for great photos. The outdoor area can be covered for outdoor events, like a wedding ceremony in the summer, and the little courtyard is absolutely precious.

Although I did not stay in the larger suites myself, I was in them for quite some time. They’re gorgeous and large, and the bathtubs have jets. Perfect for a romantic stay.

Breakfast was impressive. I stayed for two nights, so I had the quiche one morning and the waffles the next. Both amazing options, and served on adorable plates. Tea and coffee was...

My husband and I got married here on Halloween 2020 and it could not have been more perfect! From the room, the staff, the food, the location, assistance with our wedding... everything was 5 stars. We stayed in the Isabella room and it was even more beautiful than the pictures online. There are windows on almost every wall and the natural light that comes in from the courtyard just makes the room so bright and welcoming. The bed was sooo comfortable, the jetted bath tub was amazing, there are robes in the closet. Seriously, it really felt like we were in a luxurious, high-end hotel. Regarding the breakfast... I am still drooling thinking about the carrot cake French toast. Truly the best French toast I have ever had. The grounds are beautiful. Again, pictures don't do the real thing any justice. So peaceful and for the most part, quiet. And to top it all off, the location cannot be beat. You are right in the middle of the Old City. We walked everywhere the 3 days/2 nights we stayed here.

As for our wedding, if you are considering Casa de Solana for your small, intimate wedding: do it! We booked the package that came with the 2 night stay, the photographer, cake/champagne/fruit&cheese platter for 20 people, etc... We didn't have to do anything. It was so stress free and turned out beautiful.

If I had to choose one downside, it is the parking. You park in private lot 4 blocks away so make sure you don't forget anything in the car! After a long day, it feels like a trek. Any guests attending your wedding will have to fend for themselves. I think most people used Uber for our ceremony so they didn't have to deal with the headache. Also, check in and check out times can be a little hairy as there is only room for 1 car for loading and unloading purposes. However, 10/10. We will stay here again.

Thank you Casa de Solana!! Savannah and...
