This will be my third year staying at your hotel for Christmas with our family.
We absolutely love the location and the staff has always been amazing..
This year was a big disappointment due to the hotel restaurant manager.
When we checked in took us a while to get a room. However, they did give us a voucher for free drinks so we went to the bar. We where thankful for the nice gesture from Dan at the front desk. He is great very helpful & knowledgeable.
The bartender on was OK nothing great. The drinks took a long time to get. But that was ok no big deal.
We where a hungry so we wanted a bite to eat. I noticed this lady running around.
She clearly work there.
I asked her if she could please get us a menu we wanted to get some appetizers & a steak she rudely said. VERY Loudly “I AM TO BUSY “ ASK YOUR BARTERDER!!! EVERYONE turned around lookiing at us.
I was so embarrassed & upset !
OK well I’ve stayed with this company for many years that’s not Hilton etiquette . That’s just plain RUDE !
She did not have a name tag on so I had to ask the bartender what her name was.
The gentleman stated her name was Shitriz & she was the manager. SERIOUSLY this is who you have running your restaurant team?
THIS IS RIDICULOUS !
We decided to leave after the rudeness that we just encountered My family and I were going to sit and eat & listen to the music. How ever my wife & I didn’t want that lady waiting on us NO WAY!!!
I stopped at the front desk and said some thing to the gentleman working the desk. I think his name was Gabe.
I said your server Shitriz is very rude person she needs a lesson on speaking to guests & the staff.
He apologized for her rudeness.
We are diamond members and get a $30 credit per day and we didn’t even want to use the credit !
We ended up going to River n Fort spending $300. WE HAD AMAZING SERVICE!
When I come to the Hilton, I expect amazing service, friendliness, and professionalism.
EVERYTIME I’ve stayed at your hotel in past stays where great.
This was a disappointment…
Unfortunately one bad apple will ruin the taste in your mouth.
Your restaurant needs to step up there management game.
This miserable lady belongs working at Dennys not the Hilton !
The next day we were having the Christmas brunch.
I let the nice hostess know that I did not want that rude server Shitriz taking care of us & ruining our Christmas meal.
The hostess apologized apparently this happeneds frequently with this server?
We saw her running around frantically !
THANKFULLY we got a super sweet server Anna. She was professional attentive, and very kind.
The Christmas Buffet was just OK nothing great it . Most of the food was really bland & luke warm .
The food didn’t seem up to the quality of Hilton standards that we had in the prior years & at other Hilton properties.
However my wife did love her peppermint martini. She said it was the best she’s ever had she loved the recipe.
Not sure what’s going on with your Kitchen Chefs in your restaurant. But I hope you guys get it together. We left 100% dissatisfied.
We were told the buffet was $91.99 pp But where charged $94.99 pp Which was way to much for the quality of food.
Moving forward
The rooms & the location were great!!! The Valet guys outside are amazing.. The holiday lights outside the hotel spectacular. Front desk gentleman both where fantastic.
Stay away from the Aviles restaurant in the hotel.
Do your self a favor. There are plenty of amazing restaurants with outstanding chefs with top notch food right outside the doors..

Read moreThe hotel look and aesthetic is perfect. Feels modern and luxurious. However, I had several issues with service and the mechanics if this location. The check in is not till 4pm but I arrived in the city early and called, the first person I spoke with said there should be a room ready by 1pm for me as a diamond member and to call back to be sure. I called back at 1pm and the lady who answered the phone laughed at me wanting to check in possibly early cause she said everyone checked out at noon and no rooms would be ready, however once I advised her I wasn't committed to my already checked in online room number, she said ok maybe we can have something in 15 minutes. I've never had hotel staff laugh at me as a customer for a simple question. They were not the most friendly at all even upon arrival. Then we got to our new room and the a.c. was off, would not turn on at all and the room was extremely hot especially being that it was 90 degrees outside. We called front desk and asked for maintenance. He came fast, was friendly, apologized for the inconvenience, plugged in a computer and got it up and running or so we thought. About 11:30pm it's as if the a.c. was blowing hot air and the room was at least 75 degrees until about 6:45am. I tried everything to see if I could get the a.c. to blow cold air at any temperature during the night several times. I couldn't even sleep in the covers. I slept on top of the covers the whole night and was up 80% of the night uncomfortable and messing with the unit. Then I noticed in the morning there was water seeping from the bottom of the toilet onto the floor between it and the bath tub and then it began to overflow. I only stayed one night and was about to check out so used the bathroom in the lobby after breakfast. Clearly the beauty of the place is at face value but there are several issues underlying here. When I checked out, I was baffled that the man at the desk didn't even ask me if I had enjoyed my stay. Also I walked right by a manager of the hotel on my way to the lobby bathroom and normally staff is friendly but not here, he didn't even acknowledge my presence. I have stayed at plenty of hilton chain hotels, being a diamond member, and I've never had a bad experience but this one was an awful stay and it's a shame because it was extremely expensive. You would think their level of quality would be great considering they have a diamond on the front window entering the hotel as if they are diamond status hotel, defiantly not. I've seen several other reviews on facebook over the last several months all with the same complaints about the a.c. and the lack of friendliness of staff or resolve to the issue. Sounds like if I complained to management they would have done for me the same they have done for others which would have been a portable a.c. unit instead of moving rooms or treating their customers with care. I won't be staying here again and it's sad cause I'm getting married in 3 months in st Augustine and I had recommended this hotel to several of our guests, but I will be advising them to find a new hotel and remove this from a preferred...
Read moreCelebrating my wife’s birthday on August 21 & 22nd 2024 – This was the 5th time we stayed at the Hilton St. Augustine Historic Bayfront Hotel. While it might be one of the smallest Hilton hotels with only 76 rooms on property, it’s located right in the heart of the city’s Historic district. We find this Hilton to be one of the best Hiltons we have ever stayed at, from the warm greeting we received from the Valet when we drove up to the hotel, to the warm and enjoyable conversations we had with other staff members. Scott Dial, the General Manager/Conductor orchestrated our most enjoyable stay at the hotel in our awesome room overlooking Matanzas Bay. For us, it’s not about the room size and decor, it’s all about the ambiance we feel when we come to this hotel. This time we came to celebrate my wife’s birthday with hotel staff who have become friends. Scott started the celebration off with a complimentary birthday drink. After dinner we went up to our room with its beautiful view of Matanzas Bay. A very romantic time, enjoying the sights and sounds of the evening, savoring a glass of wine, sitting on the balcony watching the moon rise over the bay, and listening to the clip clop of the horse drawn carriages taking visitors on a night-time tour of the historic district. Getting up early to see the awesome sunrises from our balcony is always a pleasure. It was special being greeted by Anasimone at the Avilés Restaurant for a great breakfast and by Shiraz (Sherazad) for an excellent dinner in this award-winning hotel restaurant. Anasimone and Shiraz are two of the most professional servers my wife and I have met. They were warm, friendly and able to answer every question we asked about the preparation of our breakfast and dinner meal. The are really great servers that add a lot to the experience of staying at this hotel. Once again Scott and staff have exceeded our level of expectation. God willing, we will be back there again next year to celebrate...
