Rooms are spacious, clean, and very well-kept. The staff are all very friendly, no matter where they are met. The pool is always clean (pool towels provided on request at the front desk), and there are always snacks in the lobby. (I'm told their fresh chocolate chip cookies are grand!) The "party deck" is a favorite for people-watching from the second floor, or having a drink and a snack under the deck. They do their very best to keep things clean, and are happy to follow any reasonable request. Anyone manning the front desk is always smiling and happy to help. Their continental breakfast is actually much beyond just cereal, DIY toast, and cereal, and very tasty. A very welcoming place to spend a night (or four)! We love coming here to stay. (Teddy bears not standard fare in all hotel rooms. 😉)

I would not recommend staying here, there are many other Inns available in St Augustine. Our first room was ground floor and very musty, my companion who has allergies didn’t last 3 minutes before having to vacate with a headache. The alternative 2nd floor room, no elevator, did not have this issue and we stayed. However one of the queen beds squeaked so bad that normal sleep movement kept me awake most of the night, the very noisy A/C unit aggravated this further. The only mirror in the room was over the sink, and the TV was small, 32 inches. The photo posted was the harbor view from our room, the demolition of a restaurant. The road accessing the Inn was closed due to the removal of a historic statue. We were not informed of these activities before arrival.

The friendly staff was totally customer service oriented and the free parking was a big plus! Liked ¡ The staff was excellent - totally customer service oriented. They were friendly and bent over backward to make sure we were happy. The buffet breakfast was very good and fresh. The food choices were different each day. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning worked well and the shower was hot with strong water pressure. The pool are was simple, but the pool chairs and the pool were clean and well-cared for. Onsite parking (free with advanced reservation) was very helpful as it can be expensive to park in downtown St Augustine. We were completely statisfied with the service and the facilities.

This place has really gone downhill. We have been staying at the bay front inn for over 5 years. We have stayed here many times, recommended it to many friends and even had a room block here for our wedding because we had so many great experiences here. This visit was extremely disappointing. I called before booking online and spoke to one of the front desk ladies. There were two rooms available at the time. I asked if both rooms had a refrigerator because we are coming with our toddler (who has a peanut allergy so we didn’t want to solely rely on eating out because it can sometimes be difficult to find food for her on the fly that’s friendly with her allergy) and it was very important that we had one to store her food. The front desk lady assured me they both had one and we booked a room. When we arrived there was no refrigerator in the room. The lady I spoke with (who I am fairly certain was the same one who gave me the mis-information) told me they couldn’t get one and the room didn’t come with one and they couldn’t accommodate us, aside from us being able to put my toddlers food into a shared refrigerator outside of our room during a pandemic.. and when we’re trying to avoid a major allergen and will not know what others are keeping in the refrigerator. No thank you. She said they would take $25 off of our stay... not even $25 a night, $25 off of the entire 3 night stay. I went back to speak with her and ask if I could discuss this with the manager because their representatives really should be more careful with the information they are telling people and I think he should be aware. She refused to tell me when he would be in because he “managed 3 hotels” and she didn’t know when he would be there the next day. Then she said “I’m giving you a discount what else do you expect” and proceeded to tell me “I was free to cancel my reservation and stay elsewhere” on a holiday weekend when I had already told her we were there to celebrate my daughter’s second birthday. She was incredibly rude. Our room also had kind of a musty, unpleasant smell and some of the lights did not work in the room, which after the attitude we got we just let it go. Since she refused to let me speak with their manager, I am writing this review in hopes he gets his staff and hotel in check before he looses more business. Furthermore, there were extreme drunk and extremely loud people outside near our room well into the night during our stay. On our way out, a couple was examining their bumper that had been hit overnight. My guess would be from some of the loud drunk people driving who kept us up the nights there. If you have kids or want to sleep well on your vacation, this place is not for you. We used to rave about this place and send our family/friends here but it has sadly gone EXTREMELY downhill. We plan to let everyone we have recommended this place to in the past know that. With all of the adorable choices downtown, the BayFront Inn will be a hard pass for us in the future. I suggest it is for you too.

When I went into the Casa Monica Starbucks looking for milk for my child (no refrigerator in hotel room), the line was long but the manager of the hotel was there. I asked if they sold milk I could give my toddler. He ran to the back and brought me a cup so I didn’t have to wait in the line, which was helpful because my child was about to loose it. No charge even. There are still some places with good customer service. Maybe check out the Casa...

We had a reservation for this past Thanksgiving. Despite having reserved our favorite B&B the Bayfront Westcott a month before, the hotel didn't have enough room for our entire stay. We decided to split the family for just one night reserving one room the first night at the neighbor hotel, the Bayfront Inn. Our two teens (almost 16 and 17 yrs old) thought to be together for that night. While my husband was parking the car, I entered in the Bayfront Inn with my kids. The lady at the desk welcomed us with persistent mistrust rudely remarking that the "children" couldn't be accommodated without an adult. She made us uncomfortable right away which isn’t something that you look forward to after a long trip, but fair enough, I understand liability in business. We went next door, (yes, 350 ft is next door) to our hotel to split the luggage. We went back to the Bayfront Inn to check my daughter and I and the appalling happened. The lady with even more rudeness, if that was possible, and horrifying managerial skills, alarmed us with the upsetting news that our reservation was denied because she "didn't know who we were" and that she "didn't trust us." After driving for hours, relying on our reservation, during such a busy weekend you would understand how my husband and I were visibly upset at the news. The lady didn't stop and kept blabbering loudly with attitude worthy of a merchant at the open market that she could deny the reservation because that was a privately owned business and we couldn't do anything about it. All this in front of our kids and a couple of other guests!

To the rude and unprofessional Bayfront INN management, let me remark a few things here: I didn't know you either (who knows anyone in the hospitality business?) and yet I trusted you with my reservation, my family accommodation, and my money and you breached that trust and our contract just because you felt like doing so. Next time, you might want to deliver such unfair and upsetting news to THE PARENTS of a traveling family in a PRIVATE room and in a DECOROUS way. You might want also to apologize for the inconvenience and offer the full reimbursement without waiting for the upset guests to give you an ultimatum before calling the police.

Bayfront Inn was never our first choice and, as a friendly suggestion, It shouldn't be...

We paid to stay for 2 nights in a room that had a very clear view in our bathroom and shower to the balcony behind us. Someone had scrapped off some white spray management sprayed on window. The very small bathroom shower did not drain the water after bathing for 4 hours just standing water. No fan in bathroom to reduce heat from shower . When I went down to the pool in the afternoon of the first full day being here with my 9 year old son we got in pool only to realize the algae and black fungus growing all around on pool walls. Another guest staying at the inn had entered the pool area to use it and notice what I clearly had overlooked and told me and my son to get out before we get sick. Are you serious? I would have never expected this after paying over $240 a night here. I left the pool area with my son and went to the office to find a guy manager and a young lady when asking them about the state of the pool she had her back to me and said the pool we just had that cleaned. Her back to me so rude I told her she was not being helpful and turning her back and talking to a customer is rude. She honestly was discrediting when the pool was 15 feet from the office. The manager became overwhelmed with excitement and basically disregarded our bathroom window, our drain, and anything remotely to do with the pool. I was not asking for a refund or anything free just to be acknowledged as a customer and putting my concerns for myself and my son being in the pool. We were standing in the office with this nasty pool water on our bodies in our hair and nothing . No concern at all simple did not care. We are here for another night with no other options in town available feels awful to be stranded in a place who has taken your money and said Oh well we don't care if people are watching you shower and bathe. So very upset not angry upset slighted that so many establishments run this way or have hired people with piss poor customer service to run their business this way....
